THUG- American Wasteland

3 stars (Deja Vu) - Pros- The free roaming is quite good, The bert slide is a fun addition, Slightly improved graphics, Classic Mode, (If you've played the other 6 (like me), you're gonna buy it simply because it's more challenges to do) Cons- No edit tricks option in story mode, NO EDIT TRICKS OPTION IN STORY MODE, A bit same old, The embarrassingly bad Jackass- style humour, Still no replays, Having to go to shops to get stat challenges, Long bland corridors connecting the areas slightly diminishes the "whole city with no loading times" effect, Easier than previous games on Sick Mode, oh yeah and NO EDIT TRICKS OPTION IN STORY MODE- what a ridiculous oversight 4 stars (Pretty Good) - Even though you can tell the makers of this game rushed to get it out on time, without checking all the bugs. I have to say that i really enjoyed this game. I have only rented it, but it was sooo fun. I love these kind of games though, the kind that make you think real fast on what you should do next. If you've liked the THUG series i know for a fact that you will enjoy this. I like the new NO LOADING SCREENS thing too, it's alot more fun. THUG 2 blowed, but this game makes up for it! 3 stars (An OK game, but way too many defects) - I'm glad on renting this game for money's sake. It isn't worth past 35 bucks. This game is fun, but with way too many things messed up. These things include the diffculty, in which they expect you to pull off a 10,000 point combo as the 2nd or 3rd mission. This is especially difficult to those who are new to this. Also this is a big downgrade from THUG and THUG2 in graphics, and story. The Create a Modes are figgin' sweet, more if you have an EyeToy to put your self in the game. So unless your a hard-core Tony Hawk fan, rent it first. ...

Lean Thinking - Banish Waste and Create Wealth in Your Corporation- Revised and Updated

5 stars (Start eliminating waste!) - Buy this book, and pull up a stool! Thanks to Lean Thinking, I'm shedding waste right now. Wow! It's explosive! 4 stars (Impression of "Lean Thinking" as a Business Tool) - I found the book to be quite informative, applicable to any business, and a "must have" in our company library and in any company laying claim to being a "learning organization." 2 stars (Basic Basic Basic) - This book offered very little new information other than the basics that any of us who have ever done process improvement already know. Although the authors mention how Lean works in non-manufacturing environments, their examples are almost purely manufacturing. Not a bad read for a college student, but a waste of time for practitioners. Totally an introduction. ...

XB Tony Hawk-s American Wasteland

5 stars (the best game ever) - I got tony hawk's american wasteland the day it came out and it was awesome once I got home I played it for 6 hours striaght then I whent outside and started to skateboard I have a real board its baker skate co. uhmm whell anywhey its awesome!!!! seeya 5 stars (Wasteland cleans up the series) - Seven years ago, skateboarding became a game genre with Pro Skater. Every year after that, new additions and refined gameplay kept me playing all four Pro Skaters and both Undergrounds. In all of those years, nothing has impressed me more than Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. Somehow Neversoft has done it; they've made the perfect skating game. I'll skip telling the story, since it's basically the same "get respect" crap that was in the Underground games, and also because the gameplay has been refined to the point of perfection. Neversoft saw it coming--they've outdone themselves and done everything to skateboarding that they could. So other than a few interesting additions to the skateboarding formula (like board stalls, bert slides, and parkour), and the ability to ride and trick on BMX bikes, the coolest addition is the free-sprawling recreation of Los Angeles that serves as the world of THAW. The city is divided into sections, which takes away from some of the huge feel, but I still felt overwhelmed at first by the size of the world. This world is so much fun to skate in that I basically neglected the fact that the story mode goals are terribly easy and repetitive, but serve their purpose in unlocking huge portions of an even larger world. The controls are spot-on, the combos are still fun, and that's what keeps me coming back to this series. As a note to Neversoft, I don't care about epic storylines and I'm happy with the removal of Bam Margera from the story in general. I'm pleased, as a fan of this series, that I finally have a Hawk game that has the moves, the good controls, and the levels (well, the level) that can keep me playing for...

Tony Hawk-s American Wasteland

4 stars (Tony Hawk has seen better days) - Up until Tony Hawk Underground (THUG) the series enjoyed a steady upward evolution. Although THUG saw some improvements, the graphics and skate venues suddenly went from clean and sharp in Tony Hawk 4 to dingy and forgettable. The goal may have been to create a gritty world but for me it just looked dirty and rushed. Perhaps it's the stress of trying to put out a new game every year but after Tony Hawk 4 the series seemed much less polished. The addition of non-skateboard modes of travel seemed shallow and tacked on and wouldn't have been so bad if they weren't required to complete the game. The driving portions seemed like they were created in about 10 minutes. THUG 2 introduced a new aspect to the series, a disturbing mean spiritedness. The nasty continues in THAW and even increases giving players the ability to actually smack their skateboard upside a persons head. Tony Hawk American Wasteland is an improvement on the two THUG games but still leaves a bit to be desired. The game still seems rushed with bugs and occasional stutters in the frame rate. Some of the tricks have gotten so esoteric to have reached the level of bizarre. The biggest problem is the some of the tricks are absolutely essential in completing the game and some are REALLY hard and this is from a person who has completed 6 versions of Tony Hawk. I am currently COMPLETELY stuck trying to do a manual for what looks like about a half a mile of curvy path. On the upside THAW has six great levels of Classic Tony Hawk that make me long for the old days. There is a significant amount of BMX biking which although inferior to skateboarding is better than the dismal attempts in THUG to incorporate alternate vehicles. The storyline is improved over the previous two games although still focused on destroying property and injuring people. I think that Activision needs to stop trying to crank out a Tony Hawk game every year because the series is looking extremely ...

Mac OS X 10 4 Tiger DVD

5 stars (Sleek Tiger) - The finest OS to date. I was haapy with Paanthere, but Tiger is a steop above. 5 stars (From PC to Mac forever, this OS is amazing.) - I have used Windows for years and used a Mac at my work, I always liked the way the Mac handled graphics and also appreciated their ease of use. Mac OS X is so simple to use compared to Windows XP, it is by far the best OS I have ever used. I have not run into one single glitch, my powerbook has not crashed on me once. It had crashed on me a few times with OS 9, but this one seems to be a lot more stable. I like the dashboard also, you can quickly check the weather, stocks, dictionary or calendar all with a push of a button and built into the OS. You can also download many others for free from the Apple website. Itunes is a great application also and it is something I use all day long. Safari is far more superior in just about every-way compared to Microsoft Explorer, in fact it would take to long to list the benefits. I also liked the ability to run OS 9 in classic mode, so you can keep all your older software and still use them within OS X. If you are sick and tired of the Windows fatal exception errors or sending Windows error reports, then buy yourself an Apple and enjoy stress free living with OS X. 1 stars (Stick with Panther) - I get the spinning beachball and Microsoft Office application crashes about as often as I did in 10.1! I reformatted my hard disk and reinstalled Panther after trying the 10.4.1 and 10.4.2 updates. For my needs Panther (10.3.8+) is a much more robust and stable operating system. ...

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade with Service Pack 2

1 stars (stupid and ridiculous) - why? cause it chokes up PROCESSING and RAM that's why! its full of bugs and freezes frequently. [...] if you want stability get win2000. its ridiculous how they keep releasing new operating systems every year. XP = Xtra Problem. 5 stars (WindowsXPHomeSP2) - I had WindowsME, but something went wrong with my computer and it wasn't recognizing drivers for stuff so I got XP and that fixed all that because XP has all the drivers you need already included in it. 4 stars (No Surprises) - Upgraded from Win 98 on laptop with no problems except for conflict with wireless module. ...
