Kaplan PSAT 2006 Edition Kaplan Psat

4 stars (Same as 2005) - While, this book is great, comparing it to the 2005 version I saw that the practice tests were exactly the same. Basically the 2005 version just got a new cover. If you dont have the 2005 version, get the 2006, but if u do buy something else unless you want repeat questions. 5 stars (This book delivers results) - This year's edition is basically the same as 2005's. Last year when my son took the pre-test in the book, he scored a 169. By time he finished the book and took the last practice test, he scored a 211. When he took the actual PSAT test, he scored a 207. The practice tests really help. And Kaplan's easy-to-use book was very readable. ...

5 stars (Crisis Preparedness Handbook: A Complete Guide to Home Storage and Physical Survival) - Great book. I really don't see how one could be any better on this subject. The author has a very organized mind, has done his homework, and gives very specific recommendations that are practical and easy for anybody to follow. No wasted space or filler in this book. It's really a reference manual that you'll end up underlining and refering back to again and again. I highly recommend it. 5 stars (a great resource) - This is a great book for anyone interested in surviving any disaster. There is no telling what the future may hold, but this book is a good start in any survival library. 5 stars (One of the best out there.) - This book is well though out, organized in a simple and logical manner, and gives you plenty of information to design your own plan for a crisis of any kind. Unlike other books that just offer a bunch of check lists and "buy what I tell you" recommendation, this book allows you to make your own decisions of what you will and will not need to stock for a crisis. Additionally, much of this can be done on a budget, much of what you would need are your usual grocery items, in canned form. This is a huge savings over many of the dehyrated and freeze dried options normally presented in survival literature. Practical Research - Planning and Design 8th Edition

5 stars (Required Reading) - Practical Research actually is required reading for my Ph.D. Since it is a text book is does cost a lot. It was the same price at Amazon as it would have been to order it through my university. However, the shipping was free with Amazon, so I came out ahead. The book is well written, in plain English. The advice is practical. Some of the advice about using technology is a bit behind the times, but that is to be expected. The font size is small, but this would not be a problem for most people under 40. 5 stars (Great book for senior projects and thesis) - I have been trying to organize my thoughts for my thesis for quite sometime. One of my advisors suggested this book to help jump start things. The book outlines the literature review, abstract, etc and gives great examples as it goes. This book helped save my sanity during such a hectic time. The discussions about email and the internet are very outdated, however for those new to computers and internet research, it is a great intro. 5 stars (Easy To Read and Understand) - Research, it is safe to say, is probably not the average person's favorite course to take in school. The subject itself, for most, is bland and boring and probably not very accessible from a learning standpoint. Enter Leedy and Omrod. "Practical Research" is just an outstanding book to learn research from or to teach a research course with. First off, the book is small and it is written in simple language with "practical" examples. This makes the subject a lot more accessible to the average reader. Second, it contains lots of helpful hints and checklists to help make the learning process easier. The companion website for this book contains practice tests that the students can use to gauge their learning (as well as e-mail results to get feedback from the instructor). Desk Reference to the Diagnostic Criteria From DSM-IV-TR Desk Reference to the Diagnostic Criteria

2 stars (A Great Manual To Promote Diseases !!) - The DSM IV-TR is a great book to promote diseases that fit the armaments of medications that the pharmaceutical companies would like physicians to use. The problem with the whole DSM serie is that it is mostly subjective and based on speculation. The DSM is not based on hard empirical evidence but on a consensual system by few well-connected psychiatrists on the payroll of the pharmaceutical companies. These same psychiatrists also happen to belong to the American Psychiatric Association and/or work as hired guns/consultants for the APA, which also happens to receive yearly funding or gifts (disguised as continuing education) from the pharmaceutical companies $500,000 worth. The whole process is deceitful and shameful!!! 5 stars (Student to Counselor) - I'll be the first to admit, learning the criteria for all the diagnoses is difficult if not close to impossible. While the DSM is very helpful with all of its background, cultural, and statistics loaded information, it isn't essential for those already in the field. You already had to learn the basics before you completed your degree or licensure program. Now the concern is time and effort. This little guide is easy to navigate through, light-weight, and the spiral bound makes it easy to turn pages to compare between a couple of different classifications (be it BiPolar I Disorder or BiPolar II Disorder). I use this guide everyday at work - and leave that big book sitting on the shelf. 2 stars (format problem) - nice and handy, but i don't like the spiral format. pages are flimsy and begin to rip and shear off shortly after purchase even with careful moderate use. just a waste of money. the only difference between the quick and the desk is the inclusion of the coding chart with the desk reference. ...

The Real ACT Prep Guide- The Only Official Prep Guide From The Makers Of The ACT Real Act Prep Guid

5 stars (Best Book Out There) - Everyone studies for the ACT in a different way but the one thing that everyone needs to do is practice. This book offers 3 practice tests published by the College Board. Getting into the ACT offers 2. My advice is get both of them. When I did 2 practice tests before this book I got 28's on both. Then I worked through the 3 tests in it and saw significant improvements each time. When I finally took the ACT I got a 31 on it so from personal experience I recommend this book. 5 stars (Taking the ACT, this book is a "must have"!) - The Real ACT Prep Guide is a great resource for preparing for the test. I can't understand why anyone would pay hundreds of dollars for a classroom course or private tutor, when they can just buy this book? The Real ACT Prep Guide allowed me to work at my own pace, whenever I wanted to, 24/7. Most importantly the "retired" practice test questions have given me a major confidence boost for the upcoming ACT. 5 stars (Awesome Test Prep) - This book is great.
