The New Clay- Techniques and Approaches to Jewelry Making

5 stars (The Book that started it all for Polymer Clay) - It was the first book about PC. It was the only book available for quite some time. Many of the most renowned PC artists started with this book and you can see the influence in their work. I have just about every PC book there is and this one has some of the best explanations of the underlying basic methods available. Sort of like the "alphabet" of PC. I reread it often. I consider it a reference book rather than a project book. I have seen another very new PC enthusiast buy the book and dislike it (as a previous reviewer mentioned.) I think this comes from someone making a cursory review of the pictures in the book and deciding that is not what they want to make. I think they may have missed the trees for the forest. There is a lot of depth there. I highly recommend it for anyone serious about learning polymer clay. 1 stars (Disappointed) - I am extremely disappointed with this book. I bought it because I thought it would provide more ideas for "Jewelry Making"-it did not. When this book arrived, I had been working with polymer clay for 4 days and I learned nothing from the book that I had not figured out for myself, with the exception of how to make weird naked women from clay-not quite was a looking for.A waste of [money]. 5 stars (I worship this book!!!) - If you want to learn to make canes this is your Bible. It is not limited to cane but its step by step guide to all the different types is terrific. I must look at it several times a week. Love it. ...

The Art of Metal Clay

5 stars (Precious metal clay book) - This is a wonderful book. It came quickly and is a great price. I am always pleased with buying from Amazon. 5 stars (Great book to learn from) - I have recently been interested in polymer clay and when I found out that there was Metal Clay I was very excited. In hopes to find out more, I recently ordered Sherri Haab book as well as Precious Metal Clay in Mixed Media, by Mary Ann Devos. Sherri's book is a much better book for me as a beginner. I'm more of a visual learner and I do better with picture steps, which this book has. Very detailed written and pictured steps that help guide me through the projects. It includes creative uses of tools that can easily be found around the house or at a local thift store. She also shows detailed ideas of how to mix different mediums together. I feel like my projects will have more of a success rate do to this book. 5 stars (I LOVE this book!) - Great projects, great photography and easy to follow instructions. It's a perfect introduction to PMC, and will totally inspire you! ...

5 stars (jewelry rave) - This book is a must have for anyone who wants to create beauty with metals, but does not have safe access to a torch. I live in a condo, and had to find an available 'lab' whenever I wanted to complete a piece of jewelry. I have moved on to a new style of fabrication, and love it. 5 stars (An outstanding book on cold-connections.) - A cold connection = any connection made without heat. Joanna has put together a fantastic book that brings together many different cold connection techniques. I have yet to find another jewelry making book that covered as many cold techniques that this one does. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to enhance their jewelry making skills, but is not yet ready to move to the use of a torch for soldering. 5 stars (Great book for beginners!!) - This is an excellent book for beginners or those who are slightly more advanced in jewellery making. The jewellery in this book is made stricly with cold connections, no soldering or heating involved. For the more advanced, such as myself, I find this book great for inspiration to include cold connections in my designs. Step by step instructions and nice photography, this book is a real asset for those even who are just interested in beginning to make jewellery. Enjoy! ...

5 stars (MY NUMBER ONE BOOK !!) - It is my so called bible.I bought it 15 years ago at $50.00 from a mall bookstore and was so happy how cheap i bought it for as its return its value 50 times over since...if you had to own just one book this is it!...grant you it should be reprinted and up dated. alot of what we do does not change much but in some fields it does.color would be great. mine has many color plates (1985 ed).it seams alot for a book but if it was printed today would cost alot more(id buy a new one at what ever cost), and imho compared to many that ive spent more on do not compare..buy it,and hug it as i often do.its a jewel!lol...i wonder if "oppi" is still liveing?. 3 stars (The Oppi book (jewelers' bible)) - This book is a must for any serious jeweler but unfortunatly the copy i recieved was 99% black and white the original was full of colour and is a much better book for the artistic types However the book i recieved still has all the pictures in B&W and all the technical info which is what i really wanted from the book, if you are considering buying this book i would suggest trying to find the colour version ISBN 0-7091-9616-4 5 stars (Timeless Treasure) - I purchased my first copy of this book as an apprentice 25 years ago. Oppi and Saara did a tremendous service to generations of artists and craftspeople by meticulously compiling all the information concisely in this wonderful volume. 5 stars (Perfect book for amatuer and pro of jewelry making) - Book is full of everything you want to know about jewelry making. This book is about making "real" jewelry not stringing beads. You learn about how fine pieces are made. Good book to see if you are really interested in this craft. Great reference book. 4 stars (Great for Jewelry makers) - I am just beginning in beaded jewelry and purchased this thinking it would help me. It is a wonderful book and great instructions however, it is not for the beader. This book is very comprehensive on many techniquies such as casting, stamping, inlaying, etc. While it was not for me, if you are interested in other types of jewelry making, this book is for you. 4 stars (encyclopedia of jewelery making techniques) - This book is a very useful guide for those who wish to set up at home or in a small retail business since it provides the reader with enough information to confidently tackle all but the most difficult jobs.This book can also help the adventuresome to expand their scope by providing a lot of technical info which allows one to expand one's range of thinking. ...

Disney Princess Jewelry Box Collection

4 stars (good games for the price!) - I bought this for my daughter on her 6th birthday and she fell in love. Your child gets to dress up and design their own princesses which is very cool. they also get to design their gowns with the Princess Fashion Boutique and the Magical Dress Up. You can also import your daughters picture and she can use herself in the dress up games. Ariel's story studio was just okay because there was not a lot of stuff you could do in the game. With the 2 dress up games you have to find objects for your wardrobe which can be fun. Buy this game your daughter will love it, you might even find yourself playing it like I did! ...
