Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade from Photoshop

5 stars (great update) - The improvemnet from the first cs is very good, for one it loads faster, and that in itself is worth the money to upgrade. i havent yet explored the other new features, but I trust adobe. 5 stars (Use only for stand alone PSCS upgrade) - If you use Adobe Creative Suite CS, this is not the upgrade for you. You will need to purchase an entire Suite upgrade. You cannot upgrade only the Photoshop CS application within the Suite. But, Photoshop is a fantastic program that works more smoothly than the operating system underwhich it works. With a couple of plugins from Photokit, it is the best thing for a digital photographer who wants to make dramatic, beautiful prints. 3 stars (Caution to Creative Suite CS users trying PhotoshopCS2 upgrade) - I already know the fabulous new features of Photoshop CS2. I have Creative Suite CS Premium. I purchased this upgrade for Photoshop to gain the new features. After several attempts in trying to install this software, I called Adobe, only to learn that this Photoshop CS2 upgrade does NOT work with the full version of Creative Suite CS....period !!! No where on their packaging is there such a caution. It says it is compatable with all versions of Photoshop. Funny...I have Photoshop CS in my Creative Suite Premium package...but guess what??....so what....it don't work !!!! I've waisted $140.00, and am not gonna spend $744.00 for Creative Suite CS2 Upgrade !!!!!! ...

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade from Photoshop Any Version

5 stars (CS2 photoshop) - I have not have time to really work with it yet, but what I have worked with is awesome. 5 stars (It's worth the upgrade!) - I upgraded to the new Adobe Photoshop CS2 and found it was worth the money. The Bridge, takes the place of the old browser, is fantastic. The new vanishing point grid is cool. And if you're a photographer who uses RAW images this is the way to go. You are able to edit right in the Bridge without even opening Photoshop. I've only had my copy for a couple of weeks and already it's comfortable to use. The application gives you links to online tutorials. Very informative. 4 stars (Product good. Company bad.) - I'm an avid Photoshop user. I'm even a member of the NAPP. I use Adobe Photoshop every day in my work becuase it's great for everything from television produciton to web design to making your ex-girlfriend look like she has a huge nose. So I'm already a raving fan, and when CS2 was announced I was on it. Where I have a problem is with Adobe itself. First, when I recieved my upgrade I tried to install it but ran into a problem. It wouldn't accept my previous version, nor would it accept the serial number. A bit put out, I called Adobe. Here's where problem number two came in - they wouldn't even talk to me until I paid $40 for tech support! I'm a small business owner. If I treated my clients with this sort of contempt I'd be flipping burgers or selling blood to make a living. But what do you do when a faceless corporation initiates a policy designed to cut down their own costs for technical support by placing the burden on their own customers? The next slap in the face came when I finally got through to tech support. The reason my serial number wouldn't work was because I had been foolish enough to purchase the Adobe Creative Suite as a full package. The copy of Photoshop CS that I had wasn't a stand-alone copy, it was part of a package. In order to use the upgrade I would have to have a full ve...

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade Mac from Photoshop Any Version

3 stars (Not _exactly_ true...) - Yes, Photoshop CS2 is a stellar product. But before you spend your money, visit the Adobe site and make sure the Upgrade will work with your version of Photoshop. (It will most definitely not work with "Any Version") 5 stars (CS2 comments) - I have been using and upgrading Photoshop since version 2.5. Photoshop CS2 (Version 9) has been the best upgrade thus far. I am using the raw converter with great results. I just tried the Capture One Pro from Phase One, and did not like it as much for numerous reasons. There are a lot of new features that I find to be of great use from a photographic point of view. 5 stars (Terrific Service !!) - The response was very fast. The item came as advertised. It works on my MAC G4 very nicely. ...

Adobe Photoshop CS2

2 stars (Bridge & Camera Raw Plug-In don't work on my computer) - I love Photoshop, and have worked with all the previous versions, so I was very disappointed when I found that I could not get the Bridge to open or the Camera RAW plug-in to work on my Windows XP machine. I wasted hours and hours of my life on the phone to technical support, but they could not resuscitate this version on my computer. They never were able to tell me why I could not get these two key features to work. Without them, CS2 was virtually useless to me. My computer was only a little under 2 years old. Perhaps you will have better luck... 5 stars (A gift from the Digital Gods) - Photoshop is the king of its domain, every good artist, or anyone interested in photo manipulation, should not be without this. Now, I am not saying it's easy as pie to use, but I am saying it's the greatest tool for the job...If you can use it. I myself have used it for quite a number of things, personal and business and can confidently say I still have a lot to learn. 1 stars (Adobe Limpness) - Photoshop is a pretty powerful tool, but it is undermined by its own supremely crappy print drivers. One piddling window with maybe four controls and NO PRINT PREVIEW! No print preview for a piece of imaging software (at this late date) is perhaps the stupidest idea since the first caveman chewed on a tigers tail because he was hungry. Seriously, without a decent set of print drivers, you might as well try to alter your photos with a crayon and an iron. Idiocy. Unforgivable. Even Adobe's own Illustrator has a robust Print controls window. ...

Adobe GoLive CS2 Upgrade

1 stars (Not Worth Upgrading For) - Very disappointing release! I have been a GoLive user for going on two years now and after a long waiting period, CS2 is finally upon us. Unfortunately, CS2 did not herald the bug fixes and core improvements so many GoLive users have been waiting for. The most glaring problem is that GoLive CS2 still does not have a history feature. Even ridiculously simple functions like previewing your in-development pages make it impossible to revert to a previous state and undo any mistakes. Perform a find/replace and again, once you commit to the replace you cannot undo the change. What is the point of previewing your webpage if you can't go back and correct a mistake? It is this kind of blatant oversight that damns GoLive to being a subpar program that just doesn't feel as intuitive or polished as other Adobe products. There have been a number of small improvements (such as an advanced CSS library) but those changes cannot make you overlook the fact that at its core, GoLive CS2 is a buggy and fundamentally broken product that fails to deliver on every level. Another poor showing. When will Adobe get this right? Not worth the money as a stand alone product and certainly not worth upgrading from CS. ...

Adobe Creative Suite Standard CS2

5 stars (Quark to InDesign - Easy as 1-2-3) - I've been a QuarkXpress user since 1990 and I thought i would never find an equal. Well I have....it's called InDesign. With a Visual Quick Start book in my lap, I learned InDesign in a weekend and over the next 2 months, I designed a 54 page magazine using the program. And one of the best things about InDesign is how easy it is to produce PDF files, which is a real pain using Quark. Another plus is Adobe, a first-rate company. They let you try out any of their programs for a month. I did this with InDesign to see if my G4 running 10.28 could run the program and it did, with no problems. The new quark requires Tiger OS. I'm glad I made the switch, I'm never going back! 4 stars (More Features, Less Speed/Stability) - I've used both Photoshop and Illustrator for many years now, and I've been continually impressed by the new features in each version that have made my design work easier. CS2 does deliver with a number of enhancements in both tools and interface for both products. The good you can read in the press-release info above, and yes the new features are great. The unfortunate downside to CS2 is performance. If you do not have very good hardware, expect a performance decrease with CS2. For example my Quadro video card only has 64MB of memory, but Photoshop CS2 really needs 128MB or more to run smoothly. Without it, Photoshop will sometimes pause for a moment as it has to catch-up with your commands. Also expect 1GB of system memory as a real need, 2GB preferred. You can even run with up to 3GB in XP SP2 when the /3GB switch is set in the boot.ini, and PS will use it. Photoshop used to run pretty well with one HD, but it was preferred to have two physical drives to separate the windows paging file and Photoshop scratch disk, where data files could share some space with scratch disk on the second hard drive. Now for better performance, you need three separate hard drives: one for windows and applications...

Adobe Illustrator CS2 Upgrade

5 stars (Better than ever) - I was waiting for CS2 after using the CS. There are too many problems in CS. And I am very happy with CS2 now. The software is a lot easier to use, less problems. I have been using illustrator since illustrator 4. CS2 is definitly better than ever!! 4 stars (Adobe CS2) - Not bad, however, in Version 10, was able to use CNTRL + to zoom in. Used the + on the number pad -- now this function doesn't work, and the only + that works is that in the top row of the keyboard. The zoom out "-" in the number pad still works, but not the plus. I say that's not good. Why ruin things with an upgrade. 5 stars (Smash Hit !!!) - OK, sorry, I've been vectoring line art since 1990. My current machine is an AMD Athlon XP with the 333 FSB, 1 Gig ram & 80 Gig HD shared on network & a 40 Gig HD for software, OS is XPpro, it's 2 years old I think. I installed three cathode ray tubes, you know; big boxy monitors, the largest of which is a 21 inch monster right in my face all day. I read the reviews here and started "Quaking" in my boots! Oops I said to myself, and I looked up my previous day's purchases for the new Artist I just hired. Sure enough; I bought CS2 for the new machine. So I downloaded the 30 day trial for Illustrator CS2 Upyours, I mean Upgrade. Replacing my old Illustrator 8.01 These kids I've been interviewing made me think I should take a look outside MY CAVE! So I got it loaded up and sure enough; it takes longer to load than my old corrupted rusty buddy; Illustrator 8.01, about twice as long. ( so leave it running ) !!!!!!!!! BUT WOW !!!!!!! I should have done this sooner, or should I have ? As soon as It was running Illustrator CS2 AUTO UPDATED ITSELF. It wanted it's Adobe Bridge fixed up. So I let it. This is just exactly what people have been complaining about. ******** THE BRIDGE IS FIXED ********* WAY SUPER COOL DUDE! I keep the Bridge open on the right monitor and I can drag art into Illustrator CS2 at lightning speed. The whole ti...

Mac OS X 10 4 Tiger DVD

5 stars (Sleek Tiger) - The finest OS to date. I was haapy with Paanthere, but Tiger is a steop above. 5 stars (From PC to Mac forever, this OS is amazing.) - I have used Windows for years and used a Mac at my work, I always liked the way the Mac handled graphics and also appreciated their ease of use. Mac OS X is so simple to use compared to Windows XP, it is by far the best OS I have ever used. I have not run into one single glitch, my powerbook has not crashed on me once. It had crashed on me a few times with OS 9, but this one seems to be a lot more stable. I like the dashboard also, you can quickly check the weather, stocks, dictionary or calendar all with a push of a button and built into the OS. You can also download many others for free from the Apple website. Itunes is a great application also and it is something I use all day long. Safari is far more superior in just about every-way compared to Microsoft Explorer, in fact it would take to long to list the benefits. I also liked the ability to run OS 9 in classic mode, so you can keep all your older software and still use them within OS X. If you are sick and tired of the Windows fatal exception errors or sending Windows error reports, then buy yourself an Apple and enjoy stress free living with OS X. 1 stars (Stick with Panther) - I get the spinning beachball and Microsoft Office application crashes about as often as I did in 10.1! I reformatted my hard disk and reinstalled Panther after trying the 10.4.1 and 10.4.2 updates. For my needs Panther (10.3.8+) is a much more robust and stable operating system. ...

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade with Service Pack 2

1 stars (stupid and ridiculous) - why? cause it chokes up PROCESSING and RAM that's why! its full of bugs and freezes frequently. [...] if you want stability get win2000. its ridiculous how they keep releasing new operating systems every year. XP = Xtra Problem. 5 stars (WindowsXPHomeSP2) - I had WindowsME, but something went wrong with my computer and it wasn't recognizing drivers for stuff so I got XP and that fixed all that because XP has all the drivers you need already included in it. 4 stars (No Surprises) - Upgraded from Win 98 on laptop with no problems except for conflict with wireless module. ...
