5 stars (This is one of the best business statistics book) - This book is used in the course of Business Statistics at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. This is a useful and understandable book. The questions are well-prepared.Also,the statistics program PhSTAT is given with this book. For a basic statistics class, this book contains WAY too much information to digest in a semester of college. No professor I know of has ever gotten past chapter 8. 5 stars (View From a Math Tutor) - I have tutored math for over 20 years and Bittenger's book is one of the best I have ever seen for taking pre-algebra students from the basics to the complex. His examples are clearly laid out, easy to follow, and they lay a solid foundation for higher math learning. This book's concepts will definitely help high school students prepare for the SATs. 5 stars (Great self study book.) - I'm 38 and am a home schooler and to get back into math mode, I chose this book. I did every odd problem and some of the systhesis problems. You will learn the material if you take the time. I spent around 14 or 15 months to get through the book. The program is excersises and review. Constant review is huge plus. I recommend you get the solutions manual from addison wesley. I've just started Marv's et.al.. Precalculus book and then will go onto calculus. I'm enjoying the math. Much more then in high school. My son and I sit down and learn together. He says "get your book" and lets do math. The key to his desire to do math is because he see's his dad doing it. I've seen many other books and this tops them all. 5 stars (Makes it easy-free tutoring, & web site practice problems!) - This book is not all you get. The book itself is great. But the additional FREE helps which come with the book assure that even the most inept math student can learn algebra. These helps consist of, but are not limited to:1) free tutoring via phone,email,& fax; 2)free practice problems via internet website. Other supplemental materials consist of: Videotapes, Tutorial Software, and a solutions manual. These are all available for the student. I haven't even mentioned the benefits that a classroom teacher has through the Instructor Supplements. Concepts of Genetics 7th Edition

5 stars (I used this book for my lectures.) - OK, let me put it simply. I used this book to prepare for my lectures to 2nd year medical undergraduates- and I received outstanding feedback. The students just loved it! 4 stars (A descent book for beginners) - Before making any critics about this book I should stress upon the fact that the authors well deserve a four star rating for this most readable book, both for the writing style and for the contents. Almost everything written is clear, concise and well presented. The captions are of high quality and if you ever buy this book feel sure that you are not wasting your money! I am referring in particular to chapter 16: Genetics of Bacteria and Bacteriophages which in reality is quite tricky but here presented with simple words. You may not have to read it more than once for you will understand it right from the first lecture. For in-depth study though you might need something more advanced! However I did not really appreciate the way the fluctuation test of S.Luria and M.Delbruk was presented nor was the following work of J.Cairns and B.Hall in chapter 14: Gene mutation, DNA repair and Transposable elements. There seems to lack the true essence of it. Furthermore the existence of mutational hotspots is limited to a subsection only of chapter 14 and a few lines on the work of S.Benzer. Even B.Lewin in Genes VII gives a better treatment of mutational hotspots. Finally I would have expected a chapter on Mutations to talk about mutator mutations as possible ways to increase or decrease the spontaneous mutation rate but no such references were made. Despite these few things, if you love genetics or need an introductory course be sure that this book is meant for you! 5 stars (I was taught by the proffesor who wrote the book) - Yup, and the professor gave out many problems in addition to supplementary problems. The book was an easy read but in order to do well in this course you simply need a mind for genetics. ...

Fundamentals of Nursing- Concepts- Process- and Practice- Seventh Edition

4 stars (The book itself is well-written, however I have found errors on CD) - While the book is very readable as a whole, I have found a couple of errors with the book's accompanying CD which has practice questions on it. My instructors confirmed that the answers they said were correct were in fact wrong, and it could be proven by the text itself. If you don't care about the CD the book comes with, then you should be fine, but if you're like me and like to test yourself on what you have read, you will be disappointed by the CD. (I am going to write to the editors about those mistakes so hopefully it will be fixed on future editions.) 5 stars (Very good book!) - This book was required my first semester of nursing school and I think it was very well thought out and written. I especially loved the tables used throughout the book to help in studying for exams. I hope my school continues to have it on their required book list. 5 stars (Great Text for first year nursing students) - This was the textbook that I used for my first year in nursing school. It gives complete instructions with pictures and rationale's. It has wonderful little tables that teach you everything from patient teaching to signs and symptoms of diseases. The Barbarian Prince

4 stars ( A Refreshing Paranormal Romance) - Honestly, when I first read this book I couldn't put it down. This book is different. It was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other Romance books that are out. I can't wait to read the rest of the books from the series of the Dragon Lords. Well not really considered soft-porn amongst other raunchy books that are out. The sex scenes in the book are for the expression of love unlike other books that just have sex in every damned page makes my head hurt. 1 stars (Beam me out of this planet!) - I wish there was a adventure genre. I tried this book because I like fantasy/adventure with romance. I took a chance with this because of the reviews. Hell, this book was over before it got started! A journalist wanting a story on mail-order brides service to a relatively unknown planet, poses as a potential bride and accidentaly gets married to this guy (who turns out to be something else) and spends the rest of the time being "romanced" within four walls for the most part. There's no time for description of the planet flora/fauna, even. If you want soft porn with a little plot line, this is for you. If you want anything else you won't find it in this book. 5 stars (MY NUMBER ONE BOOK !!) - It is my so called bible.I bought it 15 years ago at $50.00 from a mall bookstore and was so happy how cheap i bought it for as its return its value 50 times over since...if you had to own just one book this is it!...grant you it should be reprinted and up dated. alot of what we do does not change much but in some fields it does.color would be great. mine has many color plates (1985 ed).it seams alot for a book but if it was printed today would cost alot more(id buy a new one at what ever cost), and imho compared to many that ive spent more on do not compare..buy it,and hug it as i often do.its a jewel!lol...i wonder if "oppi" is still liveing?. 3 stars (The Oppi book (jewelers' bible)) - This book is a must for any serious jeweler but unfortunatly the copy i recieved was 99% black and white the original was full of colour and is a much better book for the artistic types However the book i recieved still has all the pictures in B&W and all the technical info which is what i really wanted from the book, if you are considering buying this book i would suggest trying to find the colour version ISBN 0-7091-9616-4 5 stars (Timeless Treasure) - I purchased my first copy of this book as an apprentice 25 years ago. 4 stars (Every couple has some secrets...) - This is the first book that I have read by M. Roth, and I am pretty sure it won't be the last. " Immortal Ops " is an entertaining paranormal romance that has a good plot, and some twists that will keep you interested until the very end of this short book. Captain Lukian Vlakhusha is a person with a somewhat strange secret: he has werewolf DNA. He is also the head of a very special team of soldiers that are supposed to kill their target, a young woman named Peren. Lukian knows the operational rules by heart, "don't get attached, don't put a face to the name". Unfortunately, he had broken both of them from the moment he put his eyes on Peren's photograph. But even if he decides not to kill her, can Lukian protect Peren from the others intent on killing her?. And why would anybody want her death?. Every couple has some secrets, but Lukian and Peren have more than most. All in all, I think that this book is an excellent choice for those who like paranormal romance. It is worthwhile to point out that buying "Immortal ops" at the same time than its sequel, "Critical intelligence", is likely to be a good idea. The main couples of the two books are different but the characters remain the same, and you will end up enjoying both more if you read one after the other. 5 stars (Two fun tales of romance and love!) - This is a must buy for any paranormal lover wanting a quick read! Both authors have created very interesting, believable worlds where you truly can believe such things as werewolves and vampires exsist. I can see both of these books becoming series and I for one would definately by the sequals to each! 5 stars (Discover Pillow and Roth in this great book!) - A midnights seduction by Michelle M. Pillow. Audrey is visited by the dark and sexy Porter on halloween to find out that her mother had a secret love affair with a master vampire in another dimention and that she has an inheritence to claim.... Fate of the Heart by Mandy M. Roth Vampire Jean-Pierre's first wife was killed by townspeople who came to kill him, in the present day Jean-Pierre waits for his wife's soul to be reborn in the beautiful Elise however the townspeople are again protective of her as she has a heart condition, will time run out for the destined couple again? Both Pillow and Roth are on top form again for their ode to halloween, both are good short stories without losing depth from their size, great quick reads if you don't have time to be drawn in to a whole book! Fans of both will love this book 5 stars (All Hallows' Eve) - This is just another example of Michelle and Mandys great writing skills, wow, what an awesome book, a must buy for anyone who loves Vamp and Werewolf stories. ...

5 stars (Another Delicious Prince) - Michelle Pillow has done it again. This is book three of the series and doesn't disappoint. Sexy, fun, and Olena the heroine is to die for--funny, stubborn, strong--everything a woman should be! I love how laid back and easy going Yusef was. If you like your books sexy with just the right amount of subplot to balance but not overwhelm the main relationship (which is the whole reason for reading this wonderful series! the guys are just too darned sexy to believe!) You'll love this book! I can't wait for four! 5 stars ( The Dark Prince ) - I fell in love with this story. It was funny, and had me lauphing out loud. MMM this is a must have, 5 stars (Another Dragon Lord gem!) - The story of the dragon lords continues in The Dark Prince this time with the marriage of Prince Yusef to space pirate Olena, who is just biding her time until her crew can come and get her, or so she thinks... Again Pillow whisks us of to her wonderful Qurilixen, a fabulous combination of futuristic and historic, with her dark and sensuous yet loving warrior men and her feisty independent women. Though all the stories in this series cover the same time period and events, they are never repetitive as the events are given a truly different perspective from each character, which many try but few achieve. Again I would recommend Pillow to any one especially the dragon lords series. A real gem! ...

As the title says, the book is about kickboxing, that is, full-contact fighting. Not point fighting where eight times out of 10 the technique wouldn't have had an effect. In kickboxing, the players are really hitting and trying to defeat the other fighter by hurting him so badly that he can't continue, or by knocking him out.
