Doom 3 DVD Mac

4 stars (woot) - I don't actually own the mac version of this game but i do own and have beaten the PC version almost 3 times. I have, however, downloaded the new mac demo which runs pretty well on all low at my base line ibook G4 1.25 GHz with 256 mb of ram ati radeon mobility 9200 32 mb Vram. For the majority of the time, i get around 10 fps for the first 5 minutes or so and then it just seems to speed up. Some areas, I actually get about 45 fps which is pretty amazing. So anyways, i bought a 1 gb ram upgrade which, i hope, will allow me to play the game on low at 1024x768 with like 40 fps or so. What might have helped the most is that i downloaded the ATI radeon drivers for the mac version of my 9200 from the ati website. If you want to play this game on high or something, don't even try it becasue not only will you get bad performance, but the program automatically turns on like an ultimate pixel shader needing thing that will make the game look like crap on a 9200. I remember the pistol was all chromed almost like pure silver and the faces were two toned: they were half the light tone and half the dark tone. in terms of gameplay overall from playing the PC version, the game scares you quite a bit if you play it for the first time for the first couple hours of gameplay and then here and there later on. When i played the mac version, i tried to remember everything but of course i failed and i was still scared a few times. Not the most insane fps but a pretty good game in terms of horror 4 stars (Spooky, scary, and fun FPS that fans of the series will love.) - Despite the suggestion by another reviewer (whose "review" seems more like an ad for how great his computer is as he doesn't reveal his opinion of the game) that I shouldn't bother wasting anybody's time by reviewing the game because I'm running it on an older system, here goes: I played the game on a dual 1.25 GHz G4 Power Mac with 1.25 GB of RAM and the new Radeon 9600 Pro with 256 MB VRAM. I got the...

PS2 The Matrix- Path of Neo

2 stars (Major Disappointment) - "The Matrix" has been great entertainment for years: I love the film trilogy, I enjoyed the companion tales of "The Animatrix", but more relevant I enjoyed the "Enter The Matrix" video game (it's a 4 out of 5). So when I popped in this disc, and eagerly awaited the next installment in this iconic world...I was stunned! CONCEPT Players will assume the role of Neo for the entire film trilogy. Half of the game revolves around key sequences (Morpheus' rescue, or Neo vs. Agent Smith). The other half includes portions that add to the overall story. For example, 5 short tales are about Neo freeing the minds of The Matri'xs inhabitants. Gamers can improve Neo's abilities and powers as they progress through a simple upgrade system. GRAPHICS / ANIMATION ---The game looks solid enough, but the character models aren't very smooth and look a little blocky. The environments are nicely detailed, but there isn't much interaction with them. The martial arts combat 'looks' smooth, but collision detection has some serious issues. The walls are destructible, but the character models don't react correctly to their surroundings. Try to imagine a dark, gritty, and unclean "Jade Empire", and you get the right idea. SOUND ---The music doesn't stand out very much; in fact, it often becomes silent in the middle of cutscenes. The voice-acting isn't great, but rarely is bad. The only sore spots are actually when different actors quote the movies' lines. What's really strange is that when players use the Focus ability, the sound becomes muted and muffled. It's a really annoying experience. The guns sound fine, but don't have much of a punch to them. The martial arts attacks sound good, but also lack much emphasis to get one's blood racing. PRESENTATION ---This is the part that ticks me off the most. "Enter The Matrix" seamlessly interweaved "The Matrix Reloaded" footage with original cutscenes to create a good story. In "Path of Neo", the act...

Star Wars Jedi Knight- Jedi Academy Mac

3 stars (Good/Bad, I can't classify it, it goes all over the board) - I'm going to warn everyone looking at buying this game to make sure that their computer's specs are much more than the requirements of this game. My Computer has twice the requirements and I get really choppy performance (twice the RAM, twice the processor speed, a better than recommended graphics card, et cetera). The reason anyone's going to be looking at this game is for the lightsaber combat, which is awesome!. The problem is that when you're fighting someone else with a lightsaber, there's so much that the computer has to do, that your framerate drops to unacceptable levels. One thing to look at is this game's predecessor, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. My computer runs that game flawlessly, even with multiple jedi duking it out with all their powers. So I don't get why my coputer can't run this as well. One area where this game is much better than it's predecessor is the maps. In Jedi Knight 2, I'm always looking at the maps and thinking about, "why is there this bottomless pit here?" Or, "How did all those guys up there shooting at me get there, there's no way up or down from there." At least in the two levels of this game that I've played (I have the demo, not the full game) everything seems to have a purpose where it is, even if it does seem a little odd (like a tomb in ruins, that's built straddling a bottomless rift) As for the story, I can't tell you whether or not it's compelling like the one in Jedi Knight 2 or not because I haven't played the full game, but from what I've read, it's a lot more contrived than it's predecessor. So beware of this game, don't play it unless your computer is at LEAST 1.25ghz and you have about 512mb RAM, otherwise you'll get stutters where you don't know what's happening. As for me, I'm not going to buy it solely because of the poor performance I've gotten on the demo, I might buy it for my xbox though, just so I can play it through. 2 stars (Could...

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2

5 stars (WOW!!!!!) - First off...DDR Extreme was the worst game I've ever played! Boring songs were everywhere! From start to finish, and "The Legend of Max" is toooooooo hard for anyone! Fortunately, we now have DDR Extreme 2. At first, I wasn't going to get it, due to the fact that it is the sequel to the worst DDR game in history. But it is actually very good. The graphics were awesome, the music selection was very fun to do, and i love the challenge. Buy it, it's a much better game then Extreme! The songs are just too good to be true. I heard most of the songs in the arcade version are on here. I really dont care about that, but songs like "Cartoon Heroes" and "Butterfly" make this game awesome! And that one song made entirely of that anime video. It was so cool. Just buy it, because you wont regret it! 5 stars (BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - tHIS GAME IS SO COOL AND IT MAKES YOU DANCE BETTER (a big plus if you're in junior high). YOU CAN ALSO PLAY AGAINST REAL PEOPLE ONLINE. 5 stars (This is what "Extreme" was always meant to be) - I'm an enormous fan of Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series, and play the game almost every day of my life. The concept is so simpe - just hit the arrows once they're at the top of the screen, yet once you get going, it's a lot more addicting than you'd expect. What's incredible though, is that doing this for a long enough time can burn up some calories and tone up your calves. It was life-changing experience for me that out of nowhere got me from being lazy to athletic. It's getting bigger and bigger every day in the US, but too bad it still isn't as appreciated as it should be, thanks to monster franchises such as GTA and Halo. DDR Extreme 2 is the sixth installment that Konami has released in the United States (seven if you count the Disney Mix), and it's by far the best one, and it proves to be a great comeback after the largely disappointing Extreme US (although that game is still the recommend...

Gamecube - Mario Party 7

1 stars (?) - Nintendo why have you made 7 mario party games. This is dumb ok if you want a "party" game play the first 6.........6! do you want your great great great great grand kids to be playing mario party 500 on the game triangle? they want you do buy stuff for the gamecube so that youll buy more stuff for the next consul. it is probably fun but i don't recomend 5 stars (Whatever will they think of next?) - When Mario Party 1 came out, evryone knew that Nintendo was going to take a huge leap in the world of multiplayer action. The sequel came out quickly and the game soon attracted peoples attention. But with the sports section being filled up, Mario Party was taking a bad turn. After a while, Mario Party 3 came out and the games began to fly off the shelves once more. When the Gamecube arrived, Mario Party 4 came right after it came out. 5 and 6 completely revoulutionized the gaming industry with the return of the microphone. But it would take some time before Mario Party reached the top of the gaming industry. Soon more company's started to take over Nintendo and it looked like the company would implode. Enter Mario Party 7! The best game for multiplayers {Except for Super Smash Bros. Melee! LOL.} now even more fun than you can shake a stick at! Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Boo, Bowser Jr, Toadette, and newcomers: Birdo and Dry Bones are all here to join in on the ultimate party of the century! But the most monumental thing is that you can have 8 people playing at once! Buy your copy today! Trust me, you won't regret it! 4 stars (The Party Returns) - The past few years have really shown that Nintendo has come a real long way with their highly acclaimed video game series for the Gamecube. Yet out of all of them, none of them has ever been as interactive as the Mario Party franchise. Since its debut for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, it has arguably been a well-recognized institution that has still gotten better with age. The last one, Mar...

20 Questions Handheld Game

5 stars (Q20 is almost spooky) - This is the funnest toy we've come across in a long time. Yes, it really belongs to our 9 year old, but we parents hog it most of the time. The "ball" asks you 20 questions in an effort to know what common object you are thinking of. This thing is so smart it is scary. I think its "batting average" is about 80%. It guessed such esoteric objects as celery and coffee bean. It's amazing how close it gets on the few it gets wrong. Each turn takes about 3 minutes, so it moves quickly and everybody will want a turn. Laurie in Utah 5 stars (Wonderful Toy for Adults and Children!!!) - This magic ball uses simple algorithms and Artifical Intellegence. It is built to last and can be dropped accidentally with no damage. Adult will love it as well as it will predict questions that only a College or above graduate would only know. 5 stars (This is really fun to play around with!) - This is SOOO neat! It does pretty well at guessing, though I've stumped it a few times. I think this would make a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer! For the cost, you can't beat this cute little game! ...

XB Star Wars Battlefront II

5 stars (This game was perfect) - Starwars Battle Front II is a great game and any slight starwars fan would have no doubt about buying this game. On this game when you play campaign, Rise of the Empire, you start off as a Clone Trooper with your squad called the "501st" you battle just as you would in the movies. And instead of just taking over command posts and killing your enemys, like on the original Battle Front, the enemy has unlimited reinforcements so you better be quick because you only have a limited amount of troops and you now have objectives to do. Later in the game you turn into the Empire instead of the Clone Troopers. This game is almost like the first one, except now you can take the battle to space! To win space battles grab anything you can, a fighter, a bomber, or a transport ship, just get over to that enemy star destroyer and do anything you can to get rid of your enemy. You can either bomb the star destroyer from the outside or go inside and destroy anything you can by blowing it up. If you take a transport ship and land it in the enemy hanger that transport is a spawn point untill it is destroyed. On the battle field you have an opertunity to become a hero: Yoda, Obi Wan, Mace Windu, Darth Vader ect. Your hero does not last forever so you need to take advantage of the time you have by taking over highly guarded command posts or just wipeing out the enemy. Your hero has a time limit that goes down slowly, but when you get hit it takes a portion out of the amount of time you can use your hero, and when you kill an enemy a portion is gained. All heros have a second attack besides their light sabers, some have force lightning, others have force push, or force choke, and all the heros, equiped with a light saber, can throw their light sabers. The jedi heros can run very fast if sprinting, which is very usefull if you need to get somewhere quickly, and don't have a vehicle. Most of the weapons are still the same and there are new kinds of people...

Electric Blue Nintendo DS Hardware

5 stars (another fantastic inovation...) - when this first came out i wasn't sure i wanted it. the psp seemed worth the wait but when it came out i read all the horrible reveiws and i talked to a bunch of people who owned and i actually tried it. to put it simply, it sucked. then i tried the DS, and it was awesome!!!!! the touch screen is an amazing innovation in the gaming world and i love the dual screens. the games are a not so plentiful but by december more should be out. sorry sony and sony fans, the Nintendo DS beats you by a mile... ps- the DS is half the cost of the psp 4 stars (A blue version of Nintendo's second most current handheld gaming machine) - Due to the release of the Game Boy Micro last October, the Nintendo DS currently stands as the company's most current portable handheld system. This system is equipped with two screens, an upper screen and a touch screen. The upper screen is a 3-inch backlit screen complete with semitransparent reflective TFT color LCD, 256 x 192 pixel resolution, and a .24 mm dot pitch. The only difference between the upper screen and the touch screen is that the latter comes with a transparent analog touch screen. In combination, these screens make it possible for users to play games on one screen while sending text messages on the other. When closed, the system measures 5.85" wide by 3.33" long by 1.13" tall. Available in five languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, and Italian, the Nintendo DS is equipped with two CPUs, an ARM9 and an ARM7, stereo speakers capable of providing virtual surround sound, and wireless communication capabilities, which allow multiple gamers to play multiplayer games from anywhere between 30 and 100 feet using only one DS card. This system (like its predecessor) is equipped with L/R shoulder buttons and a control pad, A/B/X/Y face buttons (which closely resemble those found on the SNES), start and select buttons, the aforementioned touch screen, and an embedded microphone for ...

Frogger Advance

4 stars (I love this game) - I got this game for my fifth birthday and play it one or two times a week. I really like playing it. 1 stars (I HATE THIS GAME) - This game is so stupid! I would leave it in the trash! Luigi's mansion is better. 5 stars (LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - I LOVED THIS GAME SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! It is origianol, interesting and really really fun! It has 5 cute little worlds, and 15 levels. It gets really hard over time, but as soon as you get familiar with all of the controls and enimies, it isn't as hard as it seems. A little hint: On parts of the 2nd earth element level, move fast! Don't think, move fast! It helps! I finished the game in about a week, and my favorite places were the sea world and temple levels. Buy this game now, it totally rocks! ...
