Imagine if he talked to you in a way that you could feel a connection to him, the way you did when you were a kid maybe. This makes it much better to digest as one can read and not be overwhelmed with pages upon pages of info that will keep you from reading it. The points are specific, he uses stories to highlight the quality, as well as some practical ideas/recommendations for each quality. Approval Addiction - Overcoming Your Need to Please Everyone

5 stars (How Practicing the Presence of God can Save You a lot of Grief) - An excellent - well organized and easily absorbed work about one of the most important subjects - which few of us think much about - the need for devotion in our lives. Most of us spend our thinking hours absorbed in worldly pursuits - fulfillment of immediate or, when it comes to loved ones, longer range concerns. Yet, few of us actually practice absorption in thinking about our relationship with God - actively feeling God's presence in our lives continually. Perhaps, many of us feel that we lack the courage of faith to believe that God is more than an idea, and act on that conviction. When we think of God - when we attend church - or generally when things fail to go as we wish - when we find ourselves in distress, trouble, or experiencing loss - we think in terms of salvation - our object is to get to 'dry ground' - to be delivered - to find Heaven - but we never really give complete preference to devotion - and when you think about it - as Joyce Meyer has - deeply - devotion really is the way to salvation. As Jesus has informed us - every hair on our head is numbered - and we ought to focus on that - how we present ourselves before the Lord - at every moment - giving deference to God - rather than people who happen to have something that we want. An observation of particular merit, I feel, is that most of our negative behaviors - dishonesty, violence and the like - arise from our obsession with gaining the approval and esteem of our fellow humans. Becoming a Contagious Christian Participant-s Guide

3 stars (Leaves Some Basic Questions Unanswered) - I got this book hoping for information that would help me decide on a faith to follow, but I think this book is more for people who have already bought into the Christian god concept, not those of us who are seekers. The author writes pretty clearly, but some of this Jesus stuff is too out there for me. 4 stars (More Good Than Bad) - This book really contributed to the seeker friendly evangelism and worship craze that is still prevalent in many megachurches in America. Thousands of church leaders have attended leadership conferences at Willow Creek designed to equip churches to reach out to secular people relevantly. While there are several problems I have with the Hybels approach in this book, in the end, I think more good than bad has come from the methodology and mentality proposed here, and hence, I'm giving the book a cautious 4 star rating. Someone looking for an academic theology of evangelism will probably not be satisfied with this book. The book is heavily weighted toward practical application and personal empowerment, and this is quite deliberate. The Hybels model stresses individual evangelism both in daily living, and even within the institutional church. The Hybels model, as I've seen it practiced, can turn the entire church top to bottom into an evangelistic enterprise, with lay leaders and volunteers in the church doing most of the heavy lifting. This model naturally tends to work best within the context of churches that shun an extensive ecclesiastical heirarchy, and instead have a pastoral staff that believes in and even welcomes change, adaptability, and flexibility. This intense emphasis on preaching and ministry that are ultimately evangelistic in nature has resulted in astounding church growth in more than a few churches, and in this respect, the Hybels model is to be applauded. In it he listed the problems that if allowed to continue would destroy a teams effectiveness, and quite possibly destroy the team itself. As a result of questions and comments from readers he has produced this guide to specifically address how to overcome these dysfunctions. 5 stars (Always the points counterpoint) - Jim Morrow has returned after a few years without a book on the shelves to bring us his prose in short form; an area in which his ideas excel and don't feel rushed or squashed. In " The Second Coming of Charles Darwin " we meet a automatonic galapogos tortoise who is sent back in time with a vengeant man wanting to right the moral wrings of the future by preventing what he feels is the root of all moral wrongs, the theory of evolution. A fantastic short story sewn together with Jim's always welcome satire. He continually birngs his readers a great story, even if you agree with his pathos or not, Jim is one of the most underrated writers of our day. ...

Lizzie McGuire 3- Homecoming Havoc

5 stars (yay for lizzie) - i have lizzie mcguire 1 and 2 but the third is the best. so many games (10) and also micros(worth 100) its way better, easier. i was simply stuck on the other lizzie mcguire games. this one is a keeper though! 5 stars (THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - When I heard this game was coming out, I looked it up on the internet and seeing how neat it seemed, bought it. In the whole sceme of things, it's not so difficult but the first time you play it, it's kind of confusing. Each stage has ten micro games with a dance off at the end of the stage. A few of the 100 micro games are hard and some are unbelieveably simple. Some are obvious and you know exactly what to do, while others take a while and lots of thinking to figure out. Of course, the instruction booklet does not have directions for every game, so you have to figure them out. The longest micro game is ten seconds and the shortest one is a second. Yes, one second. See for yourself if you get the game. I am not wrong, and although it may sound stupid and unreal, it's true. After all, there is a reason why the games are called micro games!!(Get a hint! There is a reason why there are 100!!) The dance offs at the end of each stage are a bit tricky at first, but again, it all just takes a little getting used to. You start each new game with three chances. Chances are lost if you lose a micro game. When all your chances are gone, the game ends. You can earn more chances by purchasing tokens, which are earned by winning a micro game, winning a dance-off, and at the end of each stage. With the trial mode, you can see how long you can play micro games with only 3 chances and you are not allowed to use cards. This game takes about a half hour to complete (45 minutes sometimes) and I would not recommend it for long car rides. However, it does have replayability, meaning you can always earn tokens, purchase cards, and get new high scores. Over all, I think this is a cool game, I would not recommend...
