SOHO Business Cards Mac

1 stars (DOESN'T WORK!) - It says it does "double-sided" and "folding" cards right on the back of the box. There are no "double-sided" or "folding" card instructions not even in their PDF manual downloaded from their site. The ONLY way to get any help is through their discussion boards that they say they will respond to in one day. Good luck. When I copied in my logo, it stuck right in the center and spread to the edges closest to it. Couldn't select it, move it, resize it, nothing. None of the basic shapes that you can copy, squares, circles, etc. worked. I WILL FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO USE! This is very frustrating and a complete waste of my $30 which by they way they won't refund OF COURSE! 1 stars (What You See Is NOT What You Get) - This is a one-trick pony which doesn't even perform its one trick well. I ordered Soho Business Cards software to replace my old Corel Print Office 2000 which wouldn't run on Mac OS X. However, it does not begin to compare with my old program. In Soho I can have my images aligned perfectly on the screen and they come out differently in print. On my cards I have a detail of a painting on the lefthand side with the title underneath, and then on the right I include several lines of contact information including my website address. The url is on the same horizontal plane as the title of the painting on my monitor, but creeps upward significantly when it's printed out, making it look very unprofessional. In addition, the color saturation and sharpness isn't as good as the older program's even though I'm using the same printer and Avery card stock. I emailed tech support and they took a long time responding. When I finally heard from them they said that they couldn't replicate the problem and asked me to send them the file I was having difficulty with. Because the file seems to be several MBs and I have a slow dialup connection I told them I couldn't do that. When I heard from them again they suggested that I try saving the file as ...

4 stars (Labels & Envelopes) - SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) Labels and Envelopes by Chronos is a great way to design and print professional looking labels, envelopes, and letterhead with your Mac OS X. It comes on 2 CDs and requires a G3 or higher, running 10.2 or later (10.3 or later to use vector clip art), 30 MB of available disk space (1.2 GB for full clip art collection), and prints very well on ink jet or laser printers. I installed this software on an iMac G4 running 10.3 Panther. The installation process was very simple - just click on the installation icon. Although some of the features are easy to figure out, I discovered I needed to print the user's guide from the help menu. Even though it consists of 79 pages, I found it to be most helpful. This software comes with over 13,000 photographs and clip art graphics, 50 Bitstream fonts in Post Script format, and many professional ready-made designs for labels, envelopes, or letterhead. It is compatible with most label and envelope stocks from Avery and others. You can make address labels, file folder labels, multi-use labels, disk labels, audio labels, video labels, name badges, and more - all with ease. The thing I like most about this software is that it integrates with Mac OS X Address Book and iPhoto. This feature makes it simple to address your long list of Christmas cards. I have used other software for making labels but none had the vast amount of features that SOHO provides. With iPhoto and over 13,000 graphics available, you can design and customize labels and envelopes unique to you. For example, with iPhoto I found it easy to make Christmas gift tags that have a picture of the recipient on the tag. With so many features available, this software should be ideal for the small business owner. 5 stars (The best PIM software for the Mac) - Personal Organizer is by far the most powerful yet user friendly personal information manager that exists for the Mac platform. It runs flawlessly on OS9 through OS 10.3. Lets touch upon a few of this program's many strengths: ability to display multiple views (month, week, day, notes, custom lists) simultaneously; ability to assign multiple categories to names, appointments, to-dos and memos; ability to make individual entries private to avoid unintended viewing of sensitive data; ability to link calandar entries to individual contact entries; and reliable synchroniztion to Palm compatible organizers. It also has a daily journal feature. The main drawback is that the software has not been updated in two years, which makes one wonder if any future updates are forthcoming and how that might impact future software/hardware compatibility issues. 4 stars (Good but poor customer service) - Excellent software - did not need an update since installing it under OSX 10.0 or 10.1, now running under 10.3.4 - and it outperforms rival products. Many options, customizable, rich in features. However, the company never responds to questions, does not provide holiday calendars (you can make them yourself, but that's not a strong point obviously), and it did not provide updates in the last two years. Forf example, the export / import facility is in need of improvement (Address Book...). They have started to advertize their product aggressively - I hope, they will now also do something with it. 5 stars (Excellent organizer for Mac) - At first, I was overwhelmed by all this could do but quickly caught on and fell in love with it! Lots of helps to get the most out of this fully customizable organizer. A must for anyone who uses mac and who loves efficiency. Highly recommended software. ...
