Mastering Astral Projection

5 stars (Simply the best training book on the subject) - From all the books I have on the subject, this is the first that can be used as training material. It's comprehensive, easy to use and read, and the reader isn't bored to death with lenghty oppinions by the authors. They present everything that you need to know in an easy and fun training program. 5 stars (Practical and not overwhelming) - It is very important to be able to follow people who have experience with a subject. If someone has done it before then I know I can do it too. Great book, well written. 5 stars ( Mastering Astral Projection vs Astral Dynamics) - While defiantly not as technical or detailed as his other book, Astral Dynamics, Mastering Astral Projection provides the techniques in a much more structured format. I had owned Astral Dynamics for over a year, periodically doing some of the exercises, but unable to make any real progress. By the end of the first month of using this new book my energy body was buzzing all day long and even my normal dreams were being regularly transformed into OBEs. The affirmations plus the additional exit techniques make this book unique from its predecessor, but most important for me was the day by day structure which forced me to take the time and do the work needed to be able to consciously project. If you have natural iron clad will power, then defiantly just buy Astral Dynamics. Otherwise, it doesn't get any better then Mastering Astral Projection . ...

4 stars (A Good Textbook) - This textbook has a few features that are good for the first year student. First, the beginning chapters are mostly in English, introducing only a few Italian words at a time until the student builds up a vocabulary, and then, the lessons are gradually presented entirely in Italian. The supplement and appendix provides a quick reference to noun and adjective suffixes, indefinite adjectives and pronouns, possessive pronouns, and verb conjugations. The vignettes tell little cultural stories that make learning and remembering the material more meaningful. There are also Italian proverbs throughout the chapters that are fun to practice. This textbook is very good to use for refreshing on material. However, like many foreign language textbooks, all instructions eventually are presented entirely in Italian. Without a translated explanation of the assignment, students may not fully understand the exercise. Another problem is that there are many group exercises, so teachers have to watch students to make certain that the students are correctly doing the practice. There is no answer key for students on the exercises. There is also a lot of material covered in the book and it is nearly impossible to complete the entire book within the first year, so teachers need to plan well what types of exercises to do within the classroom and to carefully decide which exercises can later be assigned for outside homework. 5 stars (A Great Introduction to the Italian Language) - As a student of Italian for over 4 years, I returned to the language in college and used this textbook. The text was great...very current and up-to-date with everything Italian. Lab/video manual was a bit choppy but did the job for our listening assignments. 5 stars (Zen for team building) - From the time you get the book you realize this book was made by team members for team builders. The book has a lot of white space so you can scribble notes. This book was written so that a basic mind could comprehend the steps needed to build and manage sucessful teams. 3 stars (An Underutilized Course Of Therapy) - Weiss' study of reincarnation as revealed by hypnotized patients is interesting but mildly superficial. It left me with many more questions than it ever attempted to answer. I also noted an instance or two when the historical settings Weiss' patients were describing did not sound historically accurate for what was actually going on in the time and place in question. (i.e. a suit of rough fur clothing in 1400's Holland?) In a few case histories, the lifetimes of a single subject overlapped. I know there are theories of parallel lives/parallel universes, but just pointing out that this did come up on occasion or two. Whether a patient hypnotically "regressed" is giving details of a valid previous incarnation or experiencing a fantasy, there is enough evidence that has been accumulated over the years to suggest regressive hypnotherapy is an effective means of healing for some people. Perhaps the spiritual aspects of "do we live numerous earthly lifetimes" should be set aside and more emphasis placed on employing regression as a method of psychological treatment. Professionals such as Weiss should be at the vanguard of a potential health-improvement tool that has been squandered for too long among New Age gurus who would keep it shrouded in pseudo-spirituality and make use of it primarily as a parlor trick. On the other hand, does understanding the root of a fear or other issue truly guarantee healing? No. I have a friend who is terrified of dogs because she was badly bitten by a German Shepherd when she was five. Does the fact she knows what caused her fear erase the phobia? No. And "knowledge equals healing" is the entire basis for past life therapy. So, maybe making more widescale use of regression therapy is not a panacea, but then again, many patients claim it worked in their lives, so perhaps it should be used more widely. My point is, it's past time hypnotherapy vacated the genre of mysticism and entered the realm ...

The Complete Idiot-s Guide to Football 2nd Edition

3 stars (Good for football culture, kinda weak and jargony on actual rules) - I like the straightforwardness of the writing, and the insight into the appeal of the game. Alas, if you're an outsider hoping to learn the game from scratch, you're going to have a lot of trouble--after teaching you rudimentary terms, the writers start describing the game as if you've been watching it all your life, tossing barely-introduced jargon around all over the place. I was really disappointed that the one aspect of the game I was most interested in (the actual GAME) was so poorly rendered. 5 stars (You will know football even though you are not an American) - I'm a Chinese girl and never watched any American football games in Hong Kong until I married to an American and moved to United States one and half years ago. He is a football fan and he keeps track his team every day, not to mention especially during the regular season every Sunday. I started to watch football games with him, and I liked it a lot. Now, I understand why so many American like football. I asked many questions while I was watching the game, because I wanted to understand it more. Therefore, I read this book last year and it gave me a lot of basic information in an easy way. More interesting is the book gives many statistics and facts that I was impressed by the football business. Anyone has no idea about football, this book can help. Now, my husband was surprised that I knew football so well and we discussed football a lot during the regular season this year. Beginning ASP NET Databases Using VB NET

2 stars (Mixed Bag) - My guess is that the reviewers who gave this text five stars did not actually attempt to reproduce working versions of all the examples. The quality of this book is mixed, as is common for the multiple-author Wrox editions. Some of the chapters are exceptional, and deserve five stars, having clear and logical instruction as well as examples that work as described. Chapters 5 and 6 are examples of the best authoring, and it appears that the author with last name Ferracchiati has written some of the best chapters in the book. Other chapters are nightmarish excursions through incomplete and poorly explained code, with examples that don't work, and with files missing in the downloaded code. Examples of such chapters are 7, 9 and 10, with chapter 10 being so incredibly bad that it has permanently soured my outlook toward this text. To summarize - there is some useful information in the book, but don't pay more than a few dollars for it, and don't buy it if your own time is worth more than a few dollars per hour. 2 stars (Frustrating Experience) - I've been reading some of the other reviews on this page, and I can't believe they are reading the same book. I have had problems running the code in several of these exercises, particularly with any code that has the DataGrid control. I've also noticed I'm not the only with this problem, since I have browsed the Wrox website forums and found others who were having the same problems with the code. I even submitted code from Chapter 3, page 67 to Microsoft Support, after receiving nothing but a blank page when I ran it. Microsoft noticed that the code was MISSING a required clause! The exercise in question is the FIRST exercise in the book. If the first exercise you attempt fails even though you made no typos, it's frustrating. I can easily see a novice programmer getting discouraged and giving up. I'm an experienced ASP programmer and even I was getting fed up! I've been a big fan of other boo...
