Health - The Basics 6th Edition

1 stars (negative) - I ordered the 6th edition and received the 5th edition. However, delivery was fast, but i still have to return the book. WOuld recommand everyone to ask a question to the seller before ordering the book just to make sure that the book YOU need is the one Seller is selling! ! It sucks when you receive a wrong book and have a quiz next day in the class ! ! 1 stars (BORING!) - This book is dull and boring....in fact, I would never have purchased it if it wasn't required for my college class. Everything in here is common sense or if you watch the news, you all ready know everything presented. I started reading the first chapter and it completely put me to sleep, now when preping for a test, I mearly browse through the book and read the required definitions that will be on the test. 4 stars (A helpful book on maintaining a healthy life) - The reason that I purchased the book was because of the health class I was taking at college. As I read through the chapters, they really interest me, and remind me of little things that I have always tend to forget. There are no big theories in the book, just simple "life little reminders". When I purchased this book, it also comes with a workbook, which contains review and practice tests to help you to reinforce the ideas. The book helps me to correct some of my daily bad habbits. And even the class is over now, I still read the book sometime to learn more. I think this is a great book for readers who would like to live a healthy life and to take control of themselves, just like me. ...

Cognitive Therapy- Basics and Beyond

5 stars (CBT STATE-OF-THE-ART) - Hundreds of books about CBT exists, this one is unique. A top reference in the field. Probably one of the best book available on the subject, and most than probably a major one. Aaron Beck daughter have write a superb comprehensive, clear,and practical CBT manual. In my opinion, this is one of "THE" book everybody can recommand without a slightest hesitation. 5 stars (A Great Starting Point.) - As a therapist-in-training, I was looking for a resource that could take me beyond the basics of microskills interviewing. This book has proven to be a good starting point for those who wish to develop their therapy style toward the direction of the cognitive behavior therapy model. Judith Beck's work is dense without being to jargon-ridden; cogent and insightful it walks the reader step-by-step toward a deeper understanding of the cogitive thearpy model of psychotherapy and case conceptualization. Interspersed throughout are case vignettes to highlight the intended point. The book is a tad pricey to be sure, but needful before embarking on other works by the likes of Robert Leahy, Ph.D., who has a tremendous operational grasp of CBT and has written many fine books on the subject. But first grasp the basics...then you can go "beyond." 5 stars (Superb Introductory Book to Cognitive Therapy) - This is truly a superb introductory book to cognitive therapy. I would highly recommend novice counselors, as well as those experienced counselors looking to expand their clinical skills. Judith Beck does an excellent job of walking the reader through the cognitive therapy process. Overall, the book is easy to follow and offers readers practical strategies, as well as the philosophical background to cognitive therapy. I believe this book is already on the shelves of many therapists and educators. ...

Basics of Biblical Greek Vocabulary Cards ZONDERVAN VOCABULARY BUILDER SERIES

5 stars (Awesome Learning Tool) - These cards are amazing. They offer the word in greek (with the genetive and the article) and on the back of the card is the translation in English. Also, if you have the author's book "Basics of Biblical Greek" you may look up the page were that word is in the book. The cards are numbered, and there are more than 950 cards. Just great! 5 stars (Great Vocabulary Tool) - I wish I had ignored the advice of my Greek professor and purchased these cards from the outset of my second year of Greek. These cards are great for vocabulary memorization and review. A great feature is the size of the cards (different and easier to handle than the Vis-Ed cards) and the inclusion of the principal parts on the verb cards. Buying a set of these would have saved me a lot of unnecessarily spent time creating my own cards (I have a wife and four kids and better things to do with my time). Fortunately, for the rest of the year I can do other things with the extra time I'll save. 5 stars (Best NT Greek Vocab Cards Ever) - Keeping it simple: Buy these cards! Zondervan's Greek vocabulary cards are dramatically superior to the VisEd cards. The printing is in a large easy to read font and the card size is just right. For those familiar with the VisEd vocab cards, these are about 1/4 of an inch higher and about 1/4 of an inch narrower. This makes the cards much easier to hold and flip through. Mastering the vocabulary on these cards is absolutely essential to reading the Greek NT. One of the "lies" I was told in Seminary was that you only needed to learn those words used 50 times or more. If you follow that advice, you will need to carry a dictionary with you everywhere you take your Greek NT. The joy and usefulness of NT Greek depends on your memorising all the words used 10 or more times in the NT - and these cards from Zondervan make it easier than ever to do just that. ...

Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics - An Exegetical Syntax of the New Testament

5 stars (Great Book ) - This was my first grammar that I got, not knowing it was for second year students and beyond. I had learned something about Greek and the biblical text and all that because of my interest in apologetics and cults. This book helped me on some of the texts that cults like to use and abuse for their own purpose. Now being in seminary, and planning to study Greek in the future, it will be something I will need. It also directed me to William Mounce's work which was great. God Bless Dr. Wallace. 5 stars (A Great Grammar...Helps Your Understanding) - I have long enjoyed the writings of Dr. Wallace. His writings on the biblical textual issue in particular have caused my mind to be stirred and my spirit to be awakened to the living reality of the New Testament. His grammar is only slightly less exciting than that - and that's MY fault, not his. Wallace gives many examples that make his book relevant, contemporary, and accurate. Given how difficult it really is to understand some of the Greek volumes - just read A.T. Robertson - this one never fails to make its case easier to understand. Thank you, sir. 3 stars (Is it a grammar or an Evangelical apology ?) - Please do not misunderstand the provocative title of my comment: I am not saying that this book is worthless and that you should avoid buying it. On the contrary, I think that Wallace's grammar is an invaluable work worth every dollar you spend for it. First of all, unlike other grammars, this one is as thrilling as a detective novel. Of course, unless you are deeply interested in NT exegesis, you will probably find Wallace's huge treatise anything but gripping. But if like me you are an impassioned reader of the Gospel and its original text, you will surely love this book.And the good news is that it is not for advanced learners of koine Greek only. Bungalow Bathrooms Bungalow Basics

4 stars (Waterproof your book and take a bath!) - Considering the fact that the bathroom was still an area being perfected when bungalows were built, this book displays an insightful history into bathroom technology, both at the time and throughout history. As well, it gives reality-based examples for a bungalow-phile to follow in order to mould their bathroom after those of the era, allowing for the advancement modernity. A well-researched, well-done book. 5 stars (Bathroom Inspiration) - This book saved my life. I had no idea what to do with the bathroom of my new/old 1910 apartment until I read it. The text educated me (despite the numerous bad puns), the pictures inspired me, and the authors' upbeat attitude (not to mention their extensive list of resources) kept me from losing heart while looking for appropriate tile and fixtures. If you have a house built anywhere between 1899 and 1950 and you need to restore or renovate the bathroom, this is the book for you. It is not, however, a how-to book. It is a what-to book. And it's worth every penny. 5 stars (A Great Source of Design Ideas for a Bungalow Remodel) - I bought this book to get ideas on renovating my 1930 bungalow bathroom. Although the book focuses more on restoration than renovation, I still found it a wonderful source of ideas. Filled with lots of full color pictures of restored and well-preserved bathrooms, the book is worth its price for the pictures alone. The text covers both historic and current issues and is a wealth of information. Each section of the book has a chapter called "Obsessive Restoration" for those serious about historic integrity, but also offers a "Compromise Solution" for those of us who need to balance 21st century demands. We found the book extremely valuable in picking layout, hardware, fixtures, walls, and flooring. It really helped us to design a bathroom that meets the needs of a modern family, yet which blends in with the historic values of our home. ...

1 stars (Little useful information) - This book tries to dumb-down SIP. It looks like it wants to be a training manual for a "Learning SIP" course, but doesn't provide any real technical detail. It is poorly written and a tedious read. This is the first sentance: "SIP is a standardized technology that allows for the sending of voice, data, and video between communication devices on public (e.g. Internet) or private (e.p. local area networks) data networks." ... and it doesn't get any better after that. SIP Demystified by Gonazlo Camarillo is a much better read. It is engaging and well written, providing useful information for IT engineers, managers and technologists. ...

5 stars (Susan Harris- Multitalented Communicator) - There is a saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. Susan Harris is not only a gifted artist ; drawing her explanations of concepts she is relating ; she draws pictures with her words, and for anyone lucky enough to attend one of her clinics , she draws explanations with body language. I am fortunate to have Sue as my friend and mentor for 30+ years & have told her often that "She could read the phone book to you & You'd never lose interest". She is also a gifted horsewoman & teacher. She posseses an ability to locate the crux of a lack of understanding & with empathy for both horse & rider guides them to a solution. If I had to limit my horse library to just a few books, her USPC manuels would be the first chosen. They are a wealth of information on all aspects of horsemanship , for every level of horseman , of any age. Her choice of words combined with her own illustrations gives very clear & interesting information.Sue stresses empathy for your horse & safety issues in every topic -2 basics to have ingrained in anyone who wishes to be around horses. I have recommended these books to all who share the "addiction" to horses with me. 5 stars (very good book to start with) - I advise anyone young who is seriously interested in horses to start with this book.
