2 stars (What Year do we Live in?!) - The Advance has no backlight. You would think after Color, they would've put in a backlight. Visibility is horrible even in good lighting. Seriously, what decade do we live in? Get an SP, stay away from this one. 5 stars (GBA = Portable Fun!) - I bought this console on April/May with Yu-Gi-Oh! WorldWide Edition (SDD). This will entertain you for hours without knowing what time it is at all. You can use it anywhere. At home, at hopitals, during traveling, and lots more. The screen is a little more than 2 1/2 inches. The buttons look like the GCN only without the X, Y, Z, CAMERA, AND THE ANALOG feature. All you have are the A, B, SELECT, START L, R, and the Game Pad. You insert the game cartridge on the back of the console. I have to admit one thing, the graphics are not like the PS1, GCN, ETC. It only produces about 65,000 colors at the same time. But when you are bored on the go you won't mind the graphics. All you will care about is how much fun it is. The games are very expensive. They cost $30.00! With that you get 2 PSone games and they have better graphics. So make sure that if you are buying this console, read the online reviews before you buy the game. You will know if the game is good or not. Get this GBA today! 4 stars (Great for everyone) - I bought this for my 7 yr old daughter. She loves it! So do I. I haven't played any video games since the original Nintendo came out. The lighting isn't that great, but we got a light for it and she's gone through 3 pairs of batteries already. Swimming to Antarctica - Tales of a Long-Distance Swimmer

4 stars (Amazing story) - The only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is that it didn't include any pictures. I would have liked seeing some pictures taken during the author's many amazing swims. This book tells the story of a girl who didn't fit the typical athletic profile - she is chunky and doesn't appear to be an athlete. This couldn't be further from the truth. Her unique body makeup (she is the same density as sea water and her temperature is different from most people) allow her to withstand immersion and exertion in mind numbingly cold water. The reader learns about Lynne Co'xs many accomplishments - English Channel records (as a teenager!), swimming in heavily polluted rivers (she punched through a dog carcass as she swam), and most of all swimming in seemingly deadly cold waters (the crowning achievement of her carreer). I was left completely awestruck by this story. 5 stars (Lance Armstrong's Peer as an Endurance Athlete...) - ...May be Lynn Cox. As detailed in her gripping 2004 autobiography, Swimming to Antartica. In 1972, at age 14, yes, 14, she broke the record for swimming the English Channel - male or female. Then when someone broke her mark, possibly by cheating, she came back the next year and broke it again. She was the first human to swim the Strait of Magellan - the wild waters off Chili that have sunk hundreds of ships -- and the Bering Strait, the latter while dodging icebergs: without a wetsuit. During the swim from the Atlantic to the Indian oceans around South Africa's Cape, her frogman speared a tiger shark as it attacked her. And yes, she swam to Antarctica - going just a mile, but in dense, 32-degree water that felt like plastic to swim through, and caused short-term damage to the skin's nerve endings. These adventures all get their own chapter, in clear, direct, detailed prose that puts you right next to the athlete doing these very dangerous feats. The Endurance - Shackleton-s Legendary Antarctic Expedition

5 stars (Great book with outstanding pictures) - In reading this book I am amazed at the needless hardships these men have endured and even thou they failed how much you can learn about leadership in this book. The lack of common since surely hurt them to no end. I felt Shackleton even thou always optimistic among the men did not learn from his past failures or obtain very much common since but put his own desire to succeed before the safety or well being of the men. Overall it is a very interesting story and I enjoyed the pictures immensely it really brings the story to life. 5 stars (Enduring 'Endurance'.) - An excellent book, lavishly illustrated, which considerably enhances this absorbing tale of hardship and courage in bitter weather conditions, which would otherwise bt difficult to visualise. 1 stars (Read Alfred Lansing's Book) - Several days after purchasing Caroline Alexander's, "The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition" from Amazon.com, I read a few customer reviews that recommended Alfred Lansing's 1959 classic: "Endurance: Shakelton's Incredible Journey." These reviews extolled Lansing's book, and pointed-out how Alexander's was essentially a rewrite of this earlier work. Consequently, I also purchased his book, and thoroughly enjoyed reading the two of them while on vacation a few weeks ago. (I had already begun Alexander's book -- so, completed it before beginning Lansing's.) Alexander's book has one (and only one) distinct and obvious advantage over Lansing's -- the inclusion of scores of the original expedition photographs taken by Frank Hurley (the ship's photographer). These photos are incredible and make Alexander's book indispensable to anyone interested in Shakelton's Endurance expedition. That said -- here's why I gave her book only ONE STAR.
