MP- Elementary Statistics with CD-ROM

5 stars (I used this book for an online stats with ease.) - I did not have the luxary of an instructor guide me through problems and have my questions clarified in class. I took the class online and I had no problem inderstanding how to wrok out the problems. It goes into detail on how to work out problems and gives examples step by step. There are also a lot of practice problems in the text with odd numbers answered for review. The CD in also a great learning advantage with some of the chapters with E-professor. Excellent to walk you through your stats course. 5 stars (Excellent Statistics Book) - Excellent college book and I intend to keep this in my library for future reference. This book was well done for the beginner and some advance users. This book covers many step-by-step solutions using excel and the "TI83 calculator." ...

Healthy Sleep Habits- Happy Child

5 stars (This Book Changed Our Lives) - When my daughter was 7 months old she was waking up every 90 minutes and not napping well. I was exhausted and becoming anxious. I felt powerless to help her. I knew something had to change. A dear friend gave me this book and by coincidence a family meember also sent me the same book. This book is so good because it is filled with useful information that actually helped my family. I tried several of his recomendations with great results. Every now and then my daughters sleep will go through changes and I still consult this book for help. I have given it to many people. My own Pediatrician did not know as much about sleep as Weisslbuth does. Every new parent should own this book. I cannot say more good things about it. 5 stars (This saved my sanity (and probably my marriage)) - I can't say enough good things about this book. I read it when my son was 5 months old. Prior to that, he 'napped' during the day for about 30 minutes at a time and screamed the rest of the day and night. Turns out, he was seriously over tired and all of my attempts to get him to sleep were actually adding to the problem. The day I put the advice in this book into action, my life changed. I am actually able to enjoy my son. Buy it. Buy two just in case you lose the first one. 3 stars (Helped with naps...) - "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" is a good reference guide for getting your child to sleep better during the day. My son went from maybe taking one nap to taking 3 decent naps. I now know his "tired" signals and immediately put him to bed. It is very rare when he fights naps now. However, this book has not helped us with his night-wakings. The book tells parents to put the child to sleep between 6 pm and 6:30, my child won't sleep at 6 pm. He has gotten himself on a schedule where between 6:30 and 7 pm he wants to be in his pj's and eating and then put to bed. The book also suggests not getting the child when he cries...in other wo...

5 stars (WOW!!) - I am a 41 year old woman.. stay home Mom with four kids. I have been incredibly disorganized and frustrated for many years and was recently diagnosed with Adult ADD. I decided to do some research to learn more about natural cures and basic understanding of this condition.. and this book has been awesome!! I have already changed things in my life.. from the ideas in the book.. I would say this is a MUST READ for anyone diagnosed with ADD or with a child with ADD... Dr. Hallowell has included his best suggestions from over 20 years of practice as well as his personal experiences with ADD. Unlike many of the ADD titles, this book is written with adults in mind, but it will also be helpful to parents of ADD children. Many of the chapters are extremely short. Dr. Hallowell emphasizes that you don't even have to read the whole book (but I couldn't put it down). You can start at the beginning or pick out any chapter that seems relevant to you - this strategy is perfect for adults with ADD and for the busy people who love them. This good-humored book discusses the current spectrum of medications and training techniques with an emphasis on day-to-day coping by building upon the many positive traits of those with ADD. ...

4 stars (Determination to Grow Rich!) - Determination is the key to success! How oft we dream to reach our goals and get what we want? It's the determination to Grow Rich - Get what you want and make up your mind till you succeed. The theme of this book is absolutely tempting and convincing to believe and after reading the book, it really boost up ego and motivates to grow in riches and succeed. By riches, do we mean just money? I guess not. Because this book is all about building up your own self esteem and living up to your desires till opportunity strikes your door and welcomes you. Napolean Hill in his book has set an example of the Edison Dictating Machine and Barnes took the opportunity to talk to Edison and suggested him that he can sell the product when Edison's salesmen were not enthu to sell it. Thus, Barnes became a business associate and proved he can 'Think and grow rich'. Thus, with yet more examples, the book gives an insight to use mind power and use the sixth senses and be persistent and determined until you get what you want. However, sometimes it's growing Rich in many areas and missed out is 'money power' which the author says to believe in self and things you can do. Success is ever personal and whatever you define it, you grow Rich - rich in thoughts, rich in awareness, in accumulating wealth, knowledge, etc. A good book for self betterment and feeling on high spirits. Sword of Shannara Trilogy

5 stars (A great gift for a hard core Terry Brooks fan!) - My husband loves this book. I bought it for him as a gift and he loves the look and feel of the book. I already knew he loved the stories! 5 stars (Terry Brooks is a Modern Tolkein) - If you love the writings of JRR Tolkein, Terry Brooks is the author for you. His descriptions paint a solid picture in your mind and you feel that the world being described to you actually exists. The writing style is rich with amazing descriptions and a well crafted story. The Sword of Shannara Trilogy is an excellent ongoing tale of a family cursed to be tragic heroes, whether they like it or not. The story is well written and the characters are very strong and well developed. By the end of each book, you feel that you really know these characters, even the mysterious ones. This is a definate necessity of every book collection! 5 stars (Edge of your seat...) - Terry Brooks is an amazing writer....to keep you going through all three books....it is great.... ...

1 stars (Don't waste your money) - This e-book is only 90 pages. Yet it costs as much as a real book. It adds nothing to the storyline. Don't waste your money. Skip this one. 1 stars (Ebook Scam) - Of the whole series in the New Jedi Order, this book is the most worthless. Nothing happens of any significance, the characters do nothing, the Vong do nothing. Nothing, Nothing, nothing...and what do you expect from somthing 90 pages long. It takes longer to find the book in the online store than it does to read it. They call it a book, but its just a SHORT STORY. I recommend--DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Go to the next REAL book in the series. 4 stars (Carppy service from Amazon!) - I am very unimpressed with the service provided by Amazon regading the sale and distribution of this ebook. I was neaver able to download the book even thoughI paided for it. I spent hours trying to configure my Adobe 6, Netscape, Explorer, Safari and OS 10 to enable my computer to download this ebook. Amazon said " We only mae the ebook available. It's your problem to figure out a way to download it." Star Wars- Darth Maul- Saboteur

3 stars (Solid but not spectacular) - Darth Maul: Saboteur (2001.) A Star Wars short short written by James Luceno, occuring before Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. INTRODUCTION: The Star Wars film series is, without question, the greatest science fiction series of all time. George Lucas captured the minds of people young and old across the world. But as anyone knows, there are only a limited number of films, and for many people, this just wasn't enough. And thus, the Star Wars Expanded Universe was born. The Expanded Universe consisted of comic books, video games, novels, and other media. Many of the stories focused on the characters in the films, many focused on unknown characters from the same universe. Among the authors who tried their hands at creating Star Wars novels was James Luceno. He wrote a plethora of prequel-era novels, including a short story entitled Darth Maul: Saboteur. It was initially only available in the E-Book format. The story served as somewhat of a prequel to Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter, a full-length book by Michael Reaves. Read on for my review. STORYLINE: On a distant mining world, two different mining corporations are constantly competing with one another - and not in the nice, competitive business way. They frequently sabotage one another and endanger lives. Darth Sidious has become aware of this and sends his apprentice, Darth Maul, to massacre both sides of the conflict and create chaos and confusion. This way, Darth Sidious can have the resources of the world all to himself. OPINIONS: In a lot of ways, doing a Star Wars short story just doesn't work. James Luceno is one of my favorite Star Wars author, but really, this tale falls flat. Many parts of the story drag on for too long, and even though Darth Maul's name appears in the title of the story, his role isn't as big as it should be. Seriously, Luceno should have written a full-length novel about this subject, not just a novella. Doing so, I'm sure he could have created a master...

Recovery Star Wars- The New Jedi Order

1 stars (C is for cookie... [...]) - Yeah... I wish I had read these reviews first before purchasing. So I have to wait until tomorrow to read my ebook huh? Honestly, I didn't even know this was just an in-between story before Conquest and after Balance Point. I wouldn't have even bothered with it if I had known that. Well, thankfully I just bought the Conquest duology while hunting for a print copy of Recovery, so I can read something tonight at least... [...] 4 stars (A short story that's worth the time and money) - This is my first experience with Microsoft Reader. I thought it was great! I made the font larger, pulled a nice recliner over in front of the monitor, and had no trouble reading the story in one sitting. It's quite easy to work with, and the price was not really that expensive. Granted, you might be able to get much more story in most ebooks for the same money, but this was the only media that the story was available in. It was also a very fast way to acquire the story. The story takes some interesting turns and nicely brings some other plot lines back together. I liked the new Jedi characters that were introduced, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with them in future installments of the overall story. A worthy effort on the part of Troy Denning, and most people who are still reading the Yuuzhan Vong stories by this point are likely to appreciate this part. And, if you've never tried an ebook, take a chance. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised. 1 stars (This whole EBook thing is really bad. Seabiscuit- An American Legend

4 stars (Seabiscuit: An American Legend) - Seabiscuit, by Luara Hillenbrand, is an absorbing tale of a horse racing legend. The vivid descriptions in the book makes the reader feel like you lived in the 1930's. The book ressurects the drama of horse racing. Hillenbrand has a way with words, in this novel, the reader feels like the jockey participating in the race. The book wasn't just centered around the horse. Those who owned and took care of Seabiscuit were just as interesting as the horse. Personally, I would give this novel two thumbs way up. 5 stars (Horse Sense) - A horse is a horse, of course. Unless that horse is something more. Much more. Like Hope. Winning. Success. Beating the Odds. A Second Chance. Being an American. Striking it Rich. Coming from Behind. The underdog that finishes on Top. Seabiscuit. In his time, he was as great a representative, and in many ways a better spokesman, for the eminence of American rugged individualism and perseverance, than some of his less communicative superhero contemporaries such as Lucky Lindy, John D, Joey D, Stan the Man and the Brown Bomber. Surely a great American icon deserves an equally great biographer. But a big name author would not be in keeping with the spirit of our story. Seabiscuit was a nobody. His greatness was built on adversity, his own and that of his teammates, Pollard, Smith and Howard. So too, it is with Hillenbrand. Before she discovered this remarkable quartet, she too was a sickly, defeated nobody, suffering from severe depression. We may never know for sure what personal demons she needed to exorcise by writing this book. But, her achievement speaks for itself. Thanks to this most unlikely Boswell, it can now be said that Seabiscuit is not only a great horse but also a great biography, an accolade that can not be made for even the grandest of historical subjects from Columbus to Lincoln to Ali. 5 stars (A Wonderful Read) - This is the first book that I was able to read after the mo...
