Wizcom SuperPen Professional

2 stars (Wicom SuperPen pro) - I am really disappointed with the item. The wireless feature is NOT really wireless. You can only beam about 10 -20 words via infrared. With all the new technology it is way behind the consumer expectations that you still have to use a cable to transfer data. I can not see that it would take that much to fix the problem, so the enduser will be able to use the infrared for data transfers. I wonder if they never heard about bluetooth technology either. It takes some time to get used to the pen, scanner recognition is about 80% ok. IF YOU SCAN REALLY SLOW! For that the company calls them self "world leader in personal, portable scanning pens" I think that there is a lot of room for the competition to the real leader!!!!!!!!!!! 3 stars (just alright) - this is a good item if you have poor handwriting but take notes from books. Some what difficutlt to operate initially but with practice is helpful if you like to keep track of small passages. Is it worth it. depends on how much you use it. 5 stars (great scanning, good IR connectivity) - I've had it for a day and have not even attempted to connect via cable to the PC. BTW, the unit came with serial cable, and Wizcom is sending a USB cable for free. I am hapy with IR. I beam scanned text to my PDA and the PC. I can also receive text files from the PDA and the PC. It has two main functions Dictionary/Thesaurus and scanning text to be trasfered. I bought it primarily for the first option and i order to hear pronunciation of and meaning of words I do not recongize. Its speaker is not too loud, so you need to bring it closer to the ear, but it has regular L/R earbuds with volume. I set the options to automatically pronounce a word after I scan it and show definitions. Medical, Computer, Wall Street, etc dictionaries are alredy pre-loaded. You can select in which order they interpret the word. It can scan and pronounce entire sentences. The text scanning feature is good too, a...

Corel Wordperfect Office 12 Standard Upgrade

1 stars (Word is much better!) - Due to my laptop crashing I had to use a rental computer to finish my novel by the deadline. I've used word to write 3 books, magazine articles and numerous academic papers and I've always found it easy to use and understand. Wordperfect is a complete pain, the help file is useless and the text often overlaps and looks like it is a typo which makes editing on the screen a nightmare. It was impossible to instructions of formatting a document for double spacing in the help menu (it only tells you that book reports should be double spaced, but doesn't tell you how to make it do it). I will be glad to get my laptop back and go back to work in Word. 1 stars (could not reliably loads jpegs) - I upgraded from version 8 to version 12 because I could not reliably load jpeg format pictures in v. 8. All jpegs were created using Photoshop 7 but only some random subset of them will load into Wordperfect. I have the same problem with v 12. (Microsoft Word takes all jpegs with no problems.) The same problem exists whether using Windows 98 or Windows 2000 professional so it is not likely the OS. This product is of no use to me; I have again wasted $150 on Corel Wordperfect. However this was their last chance with me. I guess, long live the Microsoft monopoly. 5 stars (The better word processing program) - I don't have much use for anything in the suite except WordPerfect. I've been using WordPerfect since before Windows, when it had a blue or a green screen, displayed mostly ASCII characters, there were no fonts except courier, and laser printers cost a small fortune. I work for a number of attorneys -- WordPerfect is the software of choice for wordprocessing in most offices I've worked in because, in my opinion, it is the better product for the job. It may also be because WordPerfect has been around for so long that everyone just migrated without changing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! When WordPerfect came out, it took over the mar...

Microsoft Word 2004 Upgrade Mac

4 stars (MS Word 2004) - This is a very capable word processor, but in its features becomes somewhat complex and not always very intuitive. For those who are fluent in its use, there are almost no limitations to the work that can be done with it. ...

Mac OS X 10 4 Tiger DVD

5 stars (Sleek Tiger) - The finest OS to date. I was haapy with Paanthere, but Tiger is a steop above. 5 stars (From PC to Mac forever, this OS is amazing.) - I have used Windows for years and used a Mac at my work, I always liked the way the Mac handled graphics and also appreciated their ease of use. Mac OS X is so simple to use compared to Windows XP, it is by far the best OS I have ever used. I have not run into one single glitch, my powerbook has not crashed on me once. It had crashed on me a few times with OS 9, but this one seems to be a lot more stable. I like the dashboard also, you can quickly check the weather, stocks, dictionary or calendar all with a push of a button and built into the OS. You can also download many others for free from the Apple website. Itunes is a great application also and it is something I use all day long. Safari is far more superior in just about every-way compared to Microsoft Explorer, in fact it would take to long to list the benefits. I also liked the ability to run OS 9 in classic mode, so you can keep all your older software and still use them within OS X. If you are sick and tired of the Windows fatal exception errors or sending Windows error reports, then buy yourself an Apple and enjoy stress free living with OS X. 1 stars (Stick with Panther) - I get the spinning beachball and Microsoft Office application crashes about as often as I did in 10.1! I reformatted my hard disk and reinstalled Panther after trying the 10.4.1 and 10.4.2 updates. For my needs Panther (10.3.8+) is a much more robust and stable operating system. ...

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade with Service Pack 2

1 stars (stupid and ridiculous) - why? cause it chokes up PROCESSING and RAM that's why! its full of bugs and freezes frequently. [...] if you want stability get win2000. its ridiculous how they keep releasing new operating systems every year. XP = Xtra Problem. 5 stars (WindowsXPHomeSP2) - I had WindowsME, but something went wrong with my computer and it wasn't recognizing drivers for stuff so I got XP and that fixed all that because XP has all the drivers you need already included in it. 4 stars (No Surprises) - Upgraded from Win 98 on laptop with no problems except for conflict with wireless module. ...
