Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade from Photoshop

5 stars (great update) - The improvemnet from the first cs is very good, for one it loads faster, and that in itself is worth the money to upgrade. i havent yet explored the other new features, but I trust adobe. 5 stars (Use only for stand alone PSCS upgrade) - If you use Adobe Creative Suite CS, this is not the upgrade for you. You will need to purchase an entire Suite upgrade. You cannot upgrade only the Photoshop CS application within the Suite. But, Photoshop is a fantastic program that works more smoothly than the operating system underwhich it works. With a couple of plugins from Photokit, it is the best thing for a digital photographer who wants to make dramatic, beautiful prints. 3 stars (Caution to Creative Suite CS users trying PhotoshopCS2 upgrade) - I already know the fabulous new features of Photoshop CS2. I have Creative Suite CS Premium. I purchased this upgrade for Photoshop to gain the new features. After several attempts in trying to install this software, I called Adobe, only to learn that this Photoshop CS2 upgrade does NOT work with the full version of Creative Suite CS....period !!! No where on their packaging is there such a caution. It says it is compatable with all versions of Photoshop. Funny...I have Photoshop CS in my Creative Suite Premium package...but guess what??....so what....it don't work !!!! I've waisted $140.00, and am not gonna spend $744.00 for Creative Suite CS2 Upgrade !!!!!! ...

Adobe GoLive CS2 Upgrade

1 stars (Not Worth Upgrading For) - Very disappointing release! I have been a GoLive user for going on two years now and after a long waiting period, CS2 is finally upon us. Unfortunately, CS2 did not herald the bug fixes and core improvements so many GoLive users have been waiting for. The most glaring problem is that GoLive CS2 still does not have a history feature. Even ridiculously simple functions like previewing your in-development pages make it impossible to revert to a previous state and undo any mistakes. Perform a find/replace and again, once you commit to the replace you cannot undo the change. What is the point of previewing your webpage if you can't go back and correct a mistake? It is this kind of blatant oversight that damns GoLive to being a subpar program that just doesn't feel as intuitive or polished as other Adobe products. There have been a number of small improvements (such as an advanced CSS library) but those changes cannot make you overlook the fact that at its core, GoLive CS2 is a buggy and fundamentally broken product that fails to deliver on every level. Another poor showing. When will Adobe get this right? Not worth the money as a stand alone product and certainly not worth upgrading from CS. ...

Apple DVD Studio Pro 4 Upgrade Mac DVD

5 stars (DVD Studio Pro 4 should be the Apple of your eye) - Typical Apple, it just doesn't get any better. Each step forward is a major gain for Apple's clients. Apple keeps it's clients far ahead of other comepting products. This gives us the means to provide the very best to our customers. ...

Art Explosion Publisher Pro

4 stars (Good Value) - I am a youth pastor and make a lot of flyers, calendars, postcards, etc. and needed a program to do just that. I previously had experience with Microsoft publisher, but didn't want to pay the cost for the software. I decided to take a chance with Publisher Pro and was fairly impressed for the price. The "thousands" of design templates is sort of a misnomer, they use pretty much the same designs on all the different formats: flyers, postcards, newsletters, etc. But, Microsoft Publisher does that too. However, Publisher Pro was not nearly as user-friendly as Microsoft Publisher. And, the graphics library is indeed large, but many of the graphics are fairly unprofessional and dated. It takes a little getting used to, especially if you are familiar with the Microsoft Program. One thing that I am disappointed with is the fact that you cannot change color schemes easily in Publisher Pro (or at least, I haven't figured it out yet and it's not intuitive). The program does come with a very detailed and large instruction manual that I'm sure would be helpful. But I don't think someone familiar with publishing software should have to use it to do basic tasks. I couldn't decide to give it 3 or 4 stars, but decided that it was a very good value and does have a lot of potential if you are willing to learn how to use the program. So, 4 stars it is. 5 stars (Great Product) - I like software that has a lot of templates and photos/graphics to work with and this program has it all!! And the templates are so easy to use and add to it is really nice. I have tried other programs and this one is the one for me. The templates are professional and easily integrated to what you need to use it for! Very user friendly! 5 stars (:)) - This is the second piece of software that I have purchased from this company. A little over two years ago was when I bought Photo Explosion Deluxe. This was when I was still learning how to use a PC and was easily flu...

3D-Album PicturePro Platinum

5 stars (Slick, Extraordinary!) - I downloaded the trial version from the company's website and decided to buy the full version straight away. The interface is different than standard Windows applications', but is clean-cut. I have no diffculty to build several testing albums following the simple steps dispalyed in the first starting page: select photos > select music > select style > change settings > build (save). I also figured out how to edit the saved albums in the My Album list. This is the most inspiring slideshow software I've ever seen. The result is definitely extraordinary. I've been able to create a wedding video using the 3D-Album animation (there are many adds-on for weddings) for the introduction part and the conclution credit at the end. I also created a photo slideshow displayed in a wedding reception. The pastor told me that he's been in many many weddings but this is the best show he's ever seen. A good value for your money. 1 stars (Terrible- Do NOT buy it) - I downloaded a demo version and made a few slideshows. First, it is very difficult to make simple changes. Not a typical interface software for performing simple functions that a normal program would have. There is no bottom for saving, nore a bottom to start new. You have to open a new sub-directory to retrieve pictures to start a new slideshow. And if you delete a set of pictures on the working directory, it actually deletes them from the actual subdirectory. You may have to get back to retrieve them from your recyle ben. It took me a whole day to figure out how to change simple funtions since it really has a bad menu system. The slideshow runs so slow, can't find a place to speed up the show. THey need a 24 online support system since there is no place to find an answer. There is no "find buttom" for the help menu for where or how to change the speed. I can tell you more, but will end up writing a whole book about it. Before you think about purchesing this product, plea...

Movie Edit Pro 2004

4 stars (I like it... But it's not perfect.) - First let me say that before I purchased MEP (I have version 10), I did a lot of research on available editing software. I must have read hundreds of reviews, several for each available brand. I also downloaded trial versions and edited some of my movies with them for comparison. And after all of that, I ended up buying MEP. I chose MEP because of the price and the excellent feature list. However I must admit, I was somewhat apprehensive about my decision because of the reviews I'd read. One of the major research sources I used was PC Magazine's online reviews. PC Magazine has reviews for just about every video editing software package on the market and is a good place to find information on video editing software. The PC Magazine editor had given Move Edit Pro a mediocre rating of 3 out of 5. The magazine commended MEP on its range of features but complained about the user interface and support. However, the article also included MEP user's responses to the article and most of the users seemed to absolutely love the software. As I read more and more reviews, I began to see a pattern. Users who seemed to be looking for a simple tape to DVD transfer package were mostly dissatisfied with MEP and the users on the other end of the spectrum, those that wanted a powerful editing utility, love the program. So you end up with the old, "you either love it or hate it" adage about this software; there's not much room for anything in the middle. I've had the software for a week now and I have to say that I love it. Unlike some of the downer reviews, I've had no problems with the interface; on the other hand, everyone seems to agree that support sucks, I've looked at the support website and I have to concur. I think the interface could be a lot better too. If Magix had adopted a more Windows standard interface, I believe they would have fewer complaints but even so, the interface is not hard to use and I can't reall...

AutoCAD LT 2006 Upgrade from LT 2004-2005

1 stars (I Used To Enjoy Autocad LT) - I used to enjoy Autocad LT so much more than the full version of Autocad. For someone like me who does production drawings, LT was a great thing. It simplified and sped up the process. When I recently purchased the upgrade from Autocad LT 2004 to LT 2006, all of this changed. I felt like I was back in the day, trying to install Autocad Release 8. It took more than a few tries to install the upgrade to Autocad LT 2006. Once I did install it, I needed to uninstall it, since it was lethargic and crashed the computer. Here are some of the major issues I had: 1. LT installs usually go smoothly. This install was as frustrating as they come. But not just because of the usual bugs. There were too many choices required and none of these choices was clearly explained.(A muddy explanation is hidden in the documentation)This leads to a fork in the install: 2. "Stand-Alone" or "Multi-Seat" install. I purchased a single license. Why is the "Multi-Seat" option even offered during this installation? I asked someone at Autodesk what would have happened if I had done the "Multi-Seat" install. I would have to pay to get the activation codes. 3. The activation codes are now 32 characters long and are only good for one use. If you need to re-install Autocad LT 2006 on a new computer or on the supposed second "allowed" computer with a "stand-alone" license, you must call and go through the same drill again. The on-line activation process didn't work. I talked to friends who said it didn't work for them, either. This process was very frustrating. If you want to avoid this for your second computer, you may use the "portable license" feature. This allows you to transfer Autocad LT from one computer to another, but then disables Autocad LT on the first computer after 24 hours. The first installation went very poorly. There was some promise with the settings migration. This feature was nice and it worked. This was about the only thing that worked on ...

Mac OS X 10 4 Tiger DVD

5 stars (Sleek Tiger) - The finest OS to date. I was haapy with Paanthere, but Tiger is a steop above. 5 stars (From PC to Mac forever, this OS is amazing.) - I have used Windows for years and used a Mac at my work, I always liked the way the Mac handled graphics and also appreciated their ease of use. Mac OS X is so simple to use compared to Windows XP, it is by far the best OS I have ever used. I have not run into one single glitch, my powerbook has not crashed on me once. It had crashed on me a few times with OS 9, but this one seems to be a lot more stable. I like the dashboard also, you can quickly check the weather, stocks, dictionary or calendar all with a push of a button and built into the OS. You can also download many others for free from the Apple website. Itunes is a great application also and it is something I use all day long. Safari is far more superior in just about every-way compared to Microsoft Explorer, in fact it would take to long to list the benefits. I also liked the ability to run OS 9 in classic mode, so you can keep all your older software and still use them within OS X. If you are sick and tired of the Windows fatal exception errors or sending Windows error reports, then buy yourself an Apple and enjoy stress free living with OS X. 1 stars (Stick with Panther) - I get the spinning beachball and Microsoft Office application crashes about as often as I did in 10.1! I reformatted my hard disk and reinstalled Panther after trying the 10.4.1 and 10.4.2 updates. For my needs Panther (10.3.8+) is a much more robust and stable operating system. ...

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade with Service Pack 2

1 stars (stupid and ridiculous) - why? cause it chokes up PROCESSING and RAM that's why! its full of bugs and freezes frequently. [...] if you want stability get win2000. its ridiculous how they keep releasing new operating systems every year. XP = Xtra Problem. 5 stars (WindowsXPHomeSP2) - I had WindowsME, but something went wrong with my computer and it wasn't recognizing drivers for stuff so I got XP and that fixed all that because XP has all the drivers you need already included in it. 4 stars (No Surprises) - Upgraded from Win 98 on laptop with no problems except for conflict with wireless module. ...
