5 stars (BEST NCLEX REVIEW BOOK) - I would highly recommend this book if you want to pass the NCLEX-RN exam on your first try. Information learned all those years in nursing school is compacted into this book in such a way that won't make you feel overwhelmed. Diseases and treatments are simply put. The questions at the end of each review tests what you've just reviewed and the rationales provided at the end of each section are excellent. This book is the best I've looked at and I am happy to report that I passed on my first try using this book as my primary studying aid. 5 stars (N-Clex Book) - Perfect condition and is a great study guide for the N-Clex. 5 stars (The Perfect Study Aid) - Cliffs AP is the perfect study aid for the AP Biology Exam. It covers all the material you need to know for the exam, at the level of specificity expected. At the end of each chapter there are questions that are similar to those you would encounter on the AP exam and an explanation given for each answer. Also possible essay questions from each section are given with a detailed summary of what information is important. If you know everthing in this book it is very easy to obtain a 5, just like I did. *Note that the exam has changed and there are 100 multiple choice questions and not 120 as mentioned in the guidebook. 5 stars (An absolutely amazing review.) - Just go and buy it. The other books in the contest aren't even worth talking about. If its in this book, it might be on the AP test. It's also a godly review for regular tests. 5 stars (Great AP Bio book-- Not just for review, but it can teach too) - This is a great AP Bio book--all the information is plainly laid out, along with practice questions at the end of each topic. It really helped on free-response. This book will help on SATII bio too--seriously. I just wish I had gotten this earlier in the year so I could have really studied everything more in-depth instead of just skimming (my class completely skipped plants and kingdoms), but I was still able to get a 5. GRE Exam 2006- Premier Program Kaplan Gre Exam Book - CD-Rom

5 stars (Great Study Book) - This book was very helpful to use for preparing for the General GRE Exam. I thought they covered each section of the text very well and explained how to do well in each part of the exam. The practice tests were a great study tool as well. 3 stars (Warning to Mac Users) - If you use a Mac, AVOID this book. The reason I state this is that you won't find out until you've opened the envelope containing the CD that it works on Windows only. They do not have a Mac CD to send you -- you are up a creek. As for the rest of the book -- it's standard test-taking skills. If you need that, it's fine. 5 stars (The best resource) - I only had a few weeks to study for the GRE and the Premier program, 2006 edition, was the best resource. It helped in all three catergories and gave useful examples. The accompanying CD was also a great tool. It gave great practice tests that helped me prepare for the actual test. Physical Examination of the Spine and Extremities

5 stars (A practical review of examination techniques) - Excellent simple to read text on how to examine the spine and extremities from the physiatry, orthopedic and neurologic viewpoints. This is a must for any practioner in the above fields especially medicolegal examiners and disability consultants. 2 stars (yuck) - Am i only one that really did not care for this text? Others are much more negotiable and useful such as Special Tests for Orthopedics. Save your money and check out other texts. 5 stars (Holy Smokes!) - Get it if you are looking for a good reference book to put on your desk that tells you how to locate various anatomical parts of the body (bones, ligaments, muscles, boney landmarks, various nerves and vessels too). 3 stars (GOOD STRATEGY BOOK) - Provided a lot of strategies that helped ease some nerves. This book tells you how to think through questions, eliminate the wrong answers instead of looking for the right one was the most important lesson learned. This book however lacked the number of questions. I used this book and the Saunder's Comprehensive Review book to study for the NCLEX-RN exam and am happy to report that I passed the exam on one try. 5 stars (Excellent) - If you don't pass your boards after reading the first nine or chapters you must be an idiot!!!!! 4 stars (Kaplan NCLEX review) - I really liked the booklet and the strategies that are given but the CD ROM left a little to be desired in my opinion. ...

Wiley CPA Examination Review 2005- 4-Volume SET Wiley Cpa Examination Review 4 Vol Set

4 stars (Good study aid but watch out for errors) - I am in the process of studying for the CPA exam (I take the Audit section tomorrow), so I haven't worked my way through all of the books in this 4 volume set. Each of the books is divided into 'modules' to help you study by topic area. The information presented at the beginning of each module is concise and well laid out; a great aid to learning. The multiple choice questions in each module are challenging and the answers provided help to explain the correct answers. Three of the books (except BEC) have 'simulation' questions. These are a valuable resource in studying, however, Whittington and Delaney have done a poor job of editing these simulations and the problems and answers are riddled with errors. So, watch out! These errors can be a source of much frustration. Overall, this 4 volume set has helped me improve my knowledge for the CPA exam. Happy Studying! ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 2 CS Clinical Skills Exam

5 stars (first aid cs) - I paid a reasonable amount for the item and and i received it a few days later in great shape.There was no problem whatsoever. 5 stars (Medical Boards Review) - Great help for the USMLE CS. Has a wide variety of cases with differential diagnosis and work up plan for almost every possible case that will be on the test. Definately worth it! 5 stars (Water in the USMLE Desert) - I recently passed the Step 2 CS using this book and I must say that this was not the only reference source I used. The truth is though that it was the only source worth turning to. I bought the Kaplan book along with the FIRST AID but I soon found myself using only the FIRST AID. . It turns out that the Kaplan people have no idea what it takes to help students pass this test( I have known several people who have taken their week long prep course and failed the Step 2 CS exam)......yet the authors of the First Aid do!!! The First Aid has complete and reliable Patient NOTES for almost every scenario you could find on the test....Kaplan's book does not. The scenarios in this book are perfectly made so that you can practice with a friend or loved one.....Kaplan's book was not organized well for this purpose (if at all). In addition, after doing much research (hint, hint), I came to know I was better off using the First Aid to pass. On exam day, it was the book I saw most often in students hands (More so in the hands of American Medical Students than in the hands of IMG's!!). If you are a smart test taker......then you like to pass, to pass you would want to have the tools that the winners are using. For this reason I recommend the FIRST AID as a reliable source for USMLE Step 2 CS preparation. ...

PMP Exam Prep 4th Edition

4 stars (Very useful + PMBOK must - Passed exam) - Yes this book is good. But ONLY in conjunction with PMBOK guide. The Inputs/Tools/Outputs are not that intuitive in Rita's book. I had several questions that I could answer only with PMBOK's knowledge. 5 stars (Easy to Understand) - Good study guide that is easy to read. Nice sample questions at the end that can help prepare one for the exam. 4 stars (Found it very useful for PMP Prep) - Initially I did not buy this book when I was starting PMP preparation. When I heard about the Book and CD in many forums, I was curious to try it out. The book and CD together turned out to be very useful, even through I wouldn't say those were essential for my prep work. The CD comes with 1300 questions, which gave a whole lot confidence after trying out. The prices are bit high though. I also used Andy Crowe book and lots of reference on PMI web site. The PMP Exam- How to Pass on Your First Try 2004 Edition

5 stars (Fantastic Resource for PMP Preperation) - After an aggressive 2-week period of study and preperation using Crowe's book as one of my two primary resources, I took and passed the PMP exam. I didn't crack the PMBOK, nor attend corporate training "boot camp" courses. My study plan went like this: Read "PMP Exam How to Pass on Your First Try" thoroughly and in order; took all post-chapter quizzes and tracked those scores; took final practice exam. I then read Tony Johnson's, "PMP Success Series: Certification Exam Manual (6th Edition)" and used the same formula (this book is more thorough than Crowe's but I found it tended to delve so deeply into the detail of the processes, that it often came at the expense of the "why?" which can inhibit your ability to grasp the entire framework; also the quiz questions were not quite as close the what I found on the real PMP as Crowe's book. Then, I went back to the Crowe book (which I had decided was my favorite by now), and began carefully reading through it again, paying special attention to the nuances and how each process fit within the overall framework. For more detail, I refered back to Johnson's book, which again, is a very valuable source expecially for specifics around tools and processes and I highly recommend it as well. Note that I purchased and browsed a couple other PMP study aids, but found those sub-standard by comparison. Learning the same materials from a variety of views is sound instructional theory, so I would suggest others apply a similar reasoning for a more comprehensive study plan. But if I had to only choose one, I would give Crowe's book the nod over any others because of it's ease of reading; it's ability to draw the entire PMI framework together and most importantly, the excellent practice questions (including the practice exam) that most closely matched the look and feel and difficulty level of the real exam. Getting to Maybe- How to Excel on Law School Exams

5 stars (Icing on the cake) - This is an entertaining book with good insights on taking law school exams (I particularly liked Fischl & Paul's hilarious debunking of that stupid old IRAC bromide that professors like to give to all those foolish 1Ls). But some Amazon reviewers seem to think that Getting To Maybe is some sort of magic cure-all. It ain't. Unless you have spent a year or two perfecting your writing and analytical skills through continual practice, merely perusing this book will do nothing for you come exam time. If, however, you are already well versed in basic lawyerly analysis, this book will give you an edge. Here's what you need to do in order to score well on a law exam: 1. Extricate the key facts from a fact-dense problem. (Watch out for red herrings!) 2. Spot and specify all legal issues that arise from these key facts. 3. Intelligently apply all applicable legal rules to the issues. 4. Interweave key facts into elements of the applicable rules. 5. Insert appropriate policy discussions that support the rules. (Take notes and study up on each prof's particular hobby horse and demonstrate extensive familiarity with it on your essay exams.) 6. Integrate ALL of the above skills with succinct, first-draft legal writing skills within the allotted time (usually about 50 minutes per problem). Think fast, write fast--and do both well. Getting To Maybe is particularly good at developing point number 5. It is somewhat spotty at most of the others. But what it does, it does very well indeed. And, as far as law-related books go, it's a fun and funny read. So, after you have mastered the basics of black-letter law and learned to think clearly and write well, what this book has to teach you will be yet another arrow in your quiver. Just don't think it's your entire arsenal. 5 stars (A Godsend) - I was desperate for information to prepare for my licensure exam. This book was extremely thorough, accurate and incredibly helpful. I had gathered numerous books and notes to study from, but most of what I needed was right in this book. I recommend it to anyone studying for psychology, counseling, social work, or other related licensure/certifying examinations. 5 stars (Study for NCE) - This is an easy to use, easy to understand tool to help you do your best on the NCE test. You really need the CD's " Vital Information and Review Questions for the NCE and State Counseling Exams" to use along with this book, to get the maximum benefit. It seems expensive, but you need to consider how much your counseling license is worth to you. 5 stars (All you need is this book and a couple months...) - This was the ONLY book I studied for the NCE. I did not dig up my notes, and I did not reference other texts. I read it cover to cover twice, marking the questions I did not guess right the first time and returning to them until I could get them right. The best part is the explanations. There were actually a couple of questions in the book that the author got wrong or that were disputable. On the whole, however, this book is all you will need to study and pass. The test makes you feel like you brought a violin to a flute concerto, but your score will confirm that the book was the correct sheet music. ...

5 stars (THE exam guide) - This book is not written in standard exam cram style. It gives you pretty deep information on different Java language aspects with small test on the end. You will need some programming background (may I recomend Thinking in Java by Bruce Eckel) to gain full advantage of this book. I had pretty good experience in VB.NET and C#.NET and this book enabled me to succesfully pass certification by reading it only once. 5 stars (Sun Certified Programmer Review) - All the preparation required to pass the Sun Certified Programmer Exam 310-035(Java 1.4) is contained in the book Java 2 Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. This book is excellent!!! If you follow the books recommendations, you will be fully prepared for the exam and the types of questions that will be asked. I liked the two-minute drill which summarized the chapter's key points. The self-tests(after each chapter) and the practice exams (on the CD that comes with the book) really get you ready for the types of questions(tricky) you can expect on the exam. There are quite a few similar type books on the market but they do not have either the clarity or focus of this book. It is all you really need to pass the exam. Civil Engineering Reference Manual for the PE Exam- Ninth Edition

4 stars (Great for a starting point-get practice problems for Geotech) - I agree with other users on the great index and also explains clearly phase diagram and their formulas. As I and others can attest to, we have long needed a practice oriented book for the Geotech PM Depth. Improve your odds and get Geotechnical review book by soilstructure.com My copy is well worth the price. 4 stars (Worthwhile investment) - I bought this reference to use for studying for the PE, along with its accompanying study guide; however, I ended up studying only about 4 hours before the PE test. I made my first pass through each session using my normal references, leaving blank any difficult to find problems. I then went back through with this book. I passed the test (in 2002), but in hindsight, I would have done it the other way, That is, use the CE Reference first and then try my other books. This book is a real time saver, and the index is very thorough. I also use it regularly in practice. For perspective, I took the "Water Resources" test. 5 stars (Perfect companion for the morning session) - This book is more or less standard-issue for PE-takers (come exam day, you'll see zillions of the CERM scattered throughout the exam hall). If you find yourself on the fence about shelling out the $$ for it, I've found it to be a good investment. Having recently taken and passed the PE exam, I can attest to this book's usefulness. The index, in particular, I found to be pretty expansive - I used it to find answers to more than one problem where I was fairly clueless. Please note, the CERM's utility is certainly highest on the morning (breadth) section. Although it won't be entirely useless on the afternoon (depth) portion of the exam, you'll definitely utilize other references more heavily. Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam- 2004-2005 Edition

5 stars (Various Reviews for AP Chem books) - So, being this the first year I took AP courses, I went a little over zealous and purchased 3 AP Chem books. Furthermore, a friend lent me another, and I skimmed through a few more. Let me say right out I got a 4. I was a bit disappointed, but I know I should have started studying harder and more rigorously. Even so, I believe that this book (Princeton's) positively contributed to my score. Princeton Review If you purchase only one review book, this is definately the one to get. This was the only one I really read through. The content was worthwhile, not too long, and fairly easy to read. I did most of the questions at the end of the chapters, but only took a quick look at the MC and Free Response questions at back of the book. I was a bit pressed for time. I finished reading the book the day right before the AP test. Really bad, I know. However, I had been preparing for a few weeks by doing old AP tests and tons and tons of old FR questions. I did almost all of the FR's on collegeboard' website. This book is definately not enough to get a 5, or even a four on. You should definately get a hold of old tests and do them! Also, try to keep up with the text book during the year to make sure you at least have some idea of what's going on. With that said, I can add one more high point of this book... the REACTIONS SECTION. The best I've seen. Very thorough, and much better than the other books. There are a few more rules than those in the books though, so make sure you ask a teacher or do enough to recognize patterns. Barrons This is definately one of the worse ones out of the lot. The book is also an excellent source for reference. The complete question set for the Technician's exam is presented with references to page numbers explaining the answers. Other books focus on "memorizing" the test questions. This book promotes understanding the subject matter while studying for the exam.
