Sacred Gold Edition

4 stars (Ascaron - Buggy and Temperamental Software) - While their games have great potential their attention to detail is terrible. Never buy a first edition game from them. Wait several months for them to work out the bugs. I am very computer literate and could not find a way to make early versions work on very standard setup PC's. 5 stars (Excellent!) - I tend more towards RTS games, so when I randomly started playing Sacred Gold because it happened to be in my boyfriend's computer at the time, I was surprised to find myself hooked. (He still hasn't gotten his CD's back...) Sacred has a wonderful plotline, something lacking in many RPG's, but its real strength lies in the actual gameplay. There is a main quest running throughout the game, but you can also complete numerous side quests for rewards--these side quests can even affect your reputation in the game, it seems. The quests make the game very wide-open and allows you to play at your leisure. The Gold edition gives you eight different character types to choose from, and they happily stray a bit from the usual standards--yes, you have your dwarf, your battle mage, and your fighter, but you can also play a seraphim with angelic blood, a vampiress who is a knight by day, your choice of a wood elf or a dark elf, and my personal favorite, a demon. Each class has its own set of abilities, set as either spells or combat arts. Sacred Gold also contains the Underworld expansion, which is possibly even better than the original game. It carries on the storyline and has more challenging quests, both in the side quest and the main quest. Finally, this is a lovely game--the graphics are well above average, and the music--well, I have many of the tracks, especially from Underworld, on my iTunes playlist. ...

1 stars ( 3D Home Architect Home Design Deluxe 6 ) - Very basic program. Would purchase again if price was $20.00 or less just for the basic house layout. 3 stars (Powerful but not user-friendly) - I have been using this product for about six months to redesign several rooms in our house. It is fairly flexible and powerful and has a good variety of colors, textures, materials, etc. to work with. However, don't believe the "intuitive, easy to use" claims made by the company producing this software. I have run into many problems where the program required me to do something unintuitive, such as raise all of the furniture in a room off the floor by 1 inch in order to be able to put a rug in the room. Also, you cannot "nudge" objects using the arrow keys as you can in almost any graphics program, so exact placement of objects becomes a frustrating game of, "Can I let go of the mouse on this exact pixel?" For the amount I paid (which was $20 more than it should have been because of Fry's' typical refusal to honor the rebate that they themselves advertised), it is not a bad program. But it's sad that there isn't anything out there that's much better. 1 stars (Not a true upgrade from version 4) - This is not a true update from version 4 but a completely new program. If you want the true updated verson try "Better Homes and gardens Home Designer" products by Chief Architect, they were the makers of "3D Home Architect version 4 and earlyer. I purchased 3D Home Architect version 5, and it was very hard to use I can't imagine that this will be better. ...

1 stars (No PDF function - advertising on box is false) - This product states in several places on the box that you can save and/or e-mail calendar files in PDF format. This is a false statement. The PDF file functions are only found in the more expensive "Deluxe" version. We called the manufacturer's customer support number and, after a lengthy wait, a support tech confirmed the only the deluxe version could do PDF files. He did not seem surprised to learn that the standard 2005 version box claimed to have that function included. This is blatent false advertising. DO NOT BE MISLED! 1 stars (The Absolute Worst) - I've never spent so much wasted time trying to get a program to do what I want it to. This is the most rediculous, convoluted way to create a simple calendar, using your own photos in your own chosen order, that I've ever seen in my life. Calendar Creator 4 was simple and straight forward, it just didn't add your photos. Finally I've upgraded and luckily I found a rebate that made this p.o.s. software free. If you want to make calendars with THEIR pictures, maybe you'll like this. There's got to be a better way... ...

Calendar Creator 2005 Deluxe

2 stars (Not a new update!) - I have been a Calendar Creator user for several years. Love the product. However, I am very disappointed with 2005 Deluxe. Every few years I update the software to the latest version. THIS IS NOT AN UPDATE! It is the same product they have been selling since 2002 with a new label. Don't let the "2005" label fool you. Personally, I feel cheated by the company because they are passing this off as a new update by relabeling a three year old product. 4 stars (All I Wanted Was A Simple Calendar Kit....) - I decided I wanted to make calendars this year for Christmas presents, and was looking at the Invent It! calendar kits. A generous relative, however, gave me an early Christmas present of a binding system and this software. The software downloaded easily on my Dell with XP; and the only times it has froze up is when I had the Digital Image 9 running in the background. But unlike the Digital Image when it freezes up, I can get out of this software without hitting the surge protector switch. At first, I was overwhelmed by this software. I could not get it to downsize my own pictures right; but I also could not get the Digital Image to do so, using their calendar software. I also could not get it to print just the calendar page, when I decided I would use my Canon EasyPhoto print software for the photos. When you go to the Help section, however, you discover Encore provides a forum to discuss problems, and the moderator answers all questions. The moderator's advice actually didn't solve my problem, although it should have--the software simply didn't do what it should have. However, I soon discovered how to get it to do what I wanted. And now I have some lovely calendars on Canon 8.5"x11" Matte Photo Paper. This software has a billion choices of backgrounds, photos, borders, and holiday events to choose from--like Christian holidays, Japanese holidays, Irish holidays, French Saint holidays...you name it, they have it! Zone Labs ZoneAlarm Security Suite 2005 Old Version

3 stars (ZoneAlarm does the job, but it irritates...) - This software installed just fine. Our biggest beef is that we don't know what it's doing behind the scenes. The logs are pitifully thin. On a daily basis, our system "goes to sleep", and we're convinced it's due to ZA doing something behind the scenes. On a number of occasions, the Anti-Virus sweep has kicked off in the middle of a busy day, instead of running at its appointed time of 1:30 AM, when we're asleep. And many of the configuration screens where you can click boxes don't have enough information (for this novice, anyway) to make an informed decision about whether "to check or not to check". It seems to be less intrusive the Norton, but less intuitive, too. We just want to know what it is doing on our behalf, and the logs sure don't tell any stories. 1 stars (Program has bugs) - I have used the Zonlabs Firewall for several years. It works fine. I can not say the same for the Security Suite. The AntiSpam function does not update definitions and ZoneLabs Tech Support know they have a problem. They are working on it but no date for a fix. Do not buy this software until all the bugs are fixed. 1 stars (No record of Puchasing this Product Rating Zero thus far) - I do not have any recolection of purchasing this product, nor can I find it on my computer or in any of my hard non computer files. I have always ordered a hard disk back up of all purchases from Zone Alarm. There is no hard disk no Computer file. I am about to raise you Know what about this charge on my credit card. I will challenge it if I do not receive for what I am being charged. I will also ask My credit card Co. for a new number to prevent future charges from these folks.
