2 stars (Disappointed) - My opinion is the food plan will work but this book is not laid out well. I found myself going back and forth trying to locate the info I needed. The book refers to info in previous written books which I do not own. This info should be included in this book! The first 4 chapters tend to cover the science aspect of the diet...For me a simple statement would do since I don't have any interest in the rest or even understand most of it to be simply honest. Moving ahead...I did begin the cleanse process, only using 1 of the supplements suggested...(taking herbal la'xs 3 'xs daily is not healthy in my opinion so I chose not to use that portion of the cleanse) I did lose 6.5# my first week. Even though I have had success with the cleanse part of the diet, I am disappointed in the book as a whole. 4 stars (GOOD INFORMATION FOR DETOXING AND FOR CHOOSING WATER) - I LIKED THIS BOOK, I HAVE BEEN STUDYING HEALTH AND NUTRITION FOR OVER 20 YEARS. THIS BOOK REALLY HELPS YOU TO CHOOSE A GOOD PH BALANCED WATER. AS A RESULT OF THE INFORMATION I FOUND A WATER THAT IS REALLY BETTER THAN THE REST. TRINITY WATER IS REALLY BETTER THAN ALOT OF THE WATERS I HAVE USED. EVERY BOOK I READ THAT GIVES ME SOME KIND OF BENEFICIAL INFORMATION IS USEFUL. THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS. I RECOMEND IT. 5 stars (PH Miracle for Weight Loss) - Finally! A detailed plan of diet that will serve excellent health for the lifetime! Not just a weight loss book, but a way to feel great, and detoxify the entire body. The weight is dropping, and energy is increasing after just 3 weeks! Thank you, Robert and Shelley Young. ...

4 stars (Good step forward) - I'm not finished reading yet, but I've learned some very important information to helop me get and keep my blood sugar levels in a normal and safe range. 4 stars ( Dr RIchard Bernsteins Completre Guide to Normal Blood Sugars ) - I found this book to be valuable ifor the resources, which is in and of itself extremely important, and his common sense approach, which is necessary to keep from the worn out phrase "leading authority", goodness knows we have too many of those these days, and it ends up a work of art and refeshing in it's honest approach. Do this and this is the rusult you will arrive at. TRUE. As for me he is a hero, however I simply cannot live on 25 carbs a day. MADELINE B OGLE PhD 5 stars (A LIFESAVER-IF YOU'RE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR HEALTH ) - Like others who have reviewed the book, I had very poor blood sugar control on the ADA diet. I hit rock bottom in 2004 when I suffered several weeks of blindness, and was unable to work. I have now lost about forty pounds, and have average blood sugar readings in the 120 range. Previously, my average would have been at least one hundred points higher. When I get off the diet, my blood sugar goes right back into the two and three hundred range instantly. I have had improvement in symptoms. For example, the feeling in my extermities is much better. For the present, my diabetic retinopathy has stabilized, which I pray will continue. I do not find the diet change to be much of a sacrifice. That might be because I experienced the horror of having the disease completely take over my life. It can be inconvenient to eat out, but with a little creativity, I have a diverse and appealing menu. I have not been to Dr. Bernstein's clinic, but hope to go eventually. I recommend the book to any diabetic I meet, and consider it the principle reason for the improvement in my health. ...

Mr Food-s Quick - Easy Diabetic Cooking - Over 150 Recipes Everybody Will Love

5 stars (Wonderful book with great recipes and techniques!) - My husband and I aren't diabetic, but we both need to lose weight. We didn't have much success with any of the brand-name diets, so we went to a registered dietician who put us on a diabetic exchange diet. Initially we had a hard time sticking to it, because it was hard to figure out ways to make food tasty with limited fat and starch intake, not to mention trying to figure out correct portion sizes to fit our exchanges. This book, however, is making it much easier. I'm learning how to make subsitutions so food tastes good but is still healthy and within our dietary limits. The food may not always be as full-flavored as our favorite old fat-laden recipes, but there are recipes my husband is actually requesting, instead of wishing he could have his favorite fast food or Thai food! The intro to the book has tips on portion sizes and subsitutionswhich are helpful in knowing what to eat and how much of it. Couple this information with a good kitchen scale, and you'll find that you'll be preparing meals you're actually looking forward to eating! 5 stars (Mr. Food's Quick & Easy Diabetic Cooking) - Brief and to the point, this book was just WONDERFUL. Mr. Food's TV recipes always seem so deliciously decedant. This book is also delicious ... but very far from decadent! Loved it! 4 stars (Simple, quick) - While his little show makes me want to jump out a window, his cookbook lives up to its name. Quick and easy, and the recipes actually work, unlike with many other cookbooks where the recipes do not turn out. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because the book lives up to its name and is affordable. ...
