This makes it much better to digest as one can read and not be overwhelmed with pages upon pages of info that will keep you from reading it. The points are specific, he uses stories to highlight the quality, as well as some practical ideas/recommendations for each quality. 4 stars (Great Book!) - GAAP is very hard to understand if it is not in laymen's terms. This book is great at "translating" the prounouncements. I definitely recommend it. 5 stars (Great GAAP Resource) - As a frequent reader of accounting literature in my daily activities, I have used the Wiley GAAP Guide for several years. The authors have converted complex accounting issues into well written and easy to understand language. It's a valuable resource. 5 stars (USING THE 2005 GAAP GUIDE ) - I am a sole practitioner who has been using the Wiley GAAP Guide for many years. I find it to be an invaluable source for answering questions pertaining to GAAP issues in a clear and concise manner. Manager-s Guide to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act- Improving Internal Controls to Prevent Fraud

5 stars (prompt delivery) - It is important to receive email from seller to confirm the transaction, which he/she did. Prompt delivery. Book arrived in good condition as stated. 2 stars (The Title is Wrong) - I feel duped. I bought this book because it's titled "Manager's Guide to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act," but it's not about the Sarbanes-Oxley Act: this book is about the author's "Control Smart" approach to internal controls. And although it is well written, and it appears that the correct implementation of "Control Smart" could assist a company in achieving SOX compliance, it's a burger when I ordered a ham sandwich. Below are some questions that I believe a book with such a title should answer--this book answered none of these questions: - Who is Sarbanes? Who is Oxley? - How was the legislation developed? - Describe the legislation e.g. is it 200 pages of dense type,or is it something that could be included an appendix? - What changes, specifically, are required by the law? - What's the history of internal control study and analysis? - Would the SOX legislation have prevented any corporate scandals; or rather, will this legislation be effective, and if so how? - If there are contentions about the legislation (there are), what are some of the issues? Scott Green wrote an OK book, I thought the case studies were excellent, about an approach to managing a company's internal controls. Someone then took this text and put it in a misleading wrapper that promised content about different, albeit related, material. 1 stars (Far too general to be of value) - Read this one a year ago and found it to be very non specific in the elements necessary to gain compliance. Now after three SOX engagements and having to deal with the intricacies of 404, this book stands as a poor introduction to the enormity of the task to follow. If however one wishes to get a brief overview of what compliance and governance will mean to public companies, read away. ...

Creative Cash Flow Reporting- Uncovering Sustainable Financial Performance

5 stars (Simply the best book on the subject.) - Messers Mulford and Comiskey have released a primer on what has lately become a messy subject. Unlike other books with a focus on cash--Hackel's book, for example--this one delves a little bit deeper into the subject of financial misreporting. The reader is given a synopsis of how companies say that their cash is operating, whereas it ought to be put under financing or investing cash flow. There is a multitude of similarly constructed arguments. The examples are lucid, apropos, and contemporary. The book also has a deterministic model for calculating CFFO. Read it. 5 stars (Mulford's methodology shows why Cash is King) - Over several years of using and preparing the GAAP-based cash flow statement in analysis, I have found it isn't that useful in enabling me to drill down to understand where a company's real operating cash flow comes from. Mulford's methodology does an excellent job focusing on interim period cash flow information to enable the reader to better spot positive and negative trends in an operating company's performance. I found Creative Cash Flow Reporting to be a most useful treatise on what's wrong with the cash flow statement and how to work around its problems. The section on analysis, the cash flow drivers, and the growth cash-flow profile were particularly helpful. 5 stars (Insightful Analysis of the Latest Corporate Shenanigans!) - Creative Cash Flow Reporting by Dr. Charles Mulford is a terrific resource on some of the latest ways that companies may try to pull the wool over the eyes of the investor community. The writer wrote it in a thorough and easy to read way. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn this management tool and to implement it in their organization. 1 stars (Requires Acrobat Big Brother? digital sign-in) - Suggest you test your digital capability to download eBooks and open them by using Acrobat's "FileDigital EditionsAuthorize Devices" before buying as Acrobat now requires a drm activation on each computer by computer and this apparently has to be transferred one to the other, and the worst part is that they apparently have major problems with their drm activation server such that I have been unable to get my "instant" pdf book for two days now. There many entries in the Adobe forum on this issue. The book involved is the Balanced Scorecard Step-by-step. Adobe has scored a zero on this one for me.
